Title: raised body temp on t (ftm or mtf can answer!)
Post by: palexander on December 09, 2014, 02:26:38 PM
how long did it take for other guys to level out? im not able to wear sweaters or even a jacket because i'm really hot. when i'm at home i wear tank tops or short sleeved shirts, when i go out i wear a button up because it's light.

i think that this could partially be related to anxiety, but my therapist told me guys tend to be warmer than girls.

People with a higher muscle mass tend to be warmer because the muscle burns a little more energy at rest and one of the by products is heat.

From what I can remember, the last time I had to fully stop HRT I was feeling the heat in a week. It was winter of one year ago, and I was again on a T-shirt.

On Female hormones I'm much much colder than as a guy, having to wear a lot more of layers even at home. It is supposed to be the normal things, lower metabolism and all.

Totally normal. One of the four big ''Hs'' of T, from what I can tell: hungry, hairy, horny, and hot.

DHT may increase your heart rate as well.

thank you, deborah!! i had natural muscle mass to begin with and have been working out a bit, so that would explain it.

it's crazy how we don't notice the smallest things, such as body temperature, until we change. thanks for your input :)

lol, i've got that covered! i eat around 4-5 protein packed meals daily, in comparison to two meals before. increased appetite, constant thirst, and excessive tiredness have basically been me lately. i haven't noticed too much for hairiness because i was already extremely hairy to begin with (refer to pre-t pic below). my sex drive has always been high, but yeah, there was a small increase, but nothing that really stands out.

wow this is some interesting info.

I knew that T made you hot, but not why. Cus I'm always getting hot flashes or I'm always very flushed. I had my window open when it was like 20 degrees out and my family hated me lmao

What about hawt?  8)

As a birth female, I can certainly vouch for the cold factor. Constantly layering and using heating pads at max heat.

I think I like the idea of 5H Hungry, Hairy, Hot, Horny and Hawt !

But seriously, good to know, and now I have an answer to give the female staff at the highschool where I have worked and hope to work again! Thx all. :D

I have been getting hot easily since about two months on T. It still hasn't gone away. I like it though! I hated being cold all the time.

Same man, 3 months on T and I still get cold way too easily. (Though in my case it may be a thyroid thing.)

Now that you guys have mentioned it...I noticed that my feet doesn't get very cold as it used to. And I used to have them freezing to the touch.

I'm only at 5 weeks but I'm already much more comfortable than before. Less layers and I'm in Chicago and its winter. I've been told it won't really go away, except for the occasional hot flash, which is more the forced menopause happening. I can tell the difference because, during those, I seriously get inst-hot out of nowhere, and my cheeks feel like they're red and burning hot.

My temperature was raised with estrogen HRT. Also I sweat easily, even at low temperatures and even without clothes I can sweat quickly. It is annoying... My end told me it's due to hormonal cause....

I love the way you put that. Nine months of T and I have all four in spades. Eat like a horse, hairy as a horse...not quite hung like a horse. :P

The women in the family don't like riding with me, because if I bother to turn the heat on, it's only to barely take the chill out of the air. I keep my bedroom window open all winter, except when it's snowstorming and that's because I don't need snow in here.

Hmm...this makes me wonder if my beta blocker will counter some of the side effects of testosterone, like increased heart rate.  I'm glad you brought this up.
