Hey do you people know any subtle behaviors or quirks of women that I can adopt right now without having to risk coming out or anything major. Like changing the way I walk?
I did toenail painting. It was completely 100% invisible and no one knew until I came out. Interestingly before I came out I started doing my fingernails too and no one seemed to care/notice.
After work and on the weekends I wear panties, most guy jeans are so thick nobody notices or cares. Just don't wear them to the gym or any place where you don't feel comfortable.
I also had girl time after 8:00pm everyday. I would take my dog on her last walk and then change into girl clothes (which you can buy online if it helps).
I also wear women's sleep wear most nights, depending on what you pick it is sooo much more comfortable than my male sleep wear.
I got my ears pierced and nobody seemed to care or notice.
You can shave a lot. I shave completely in all feminine areas. Am thinking of getting a wax melting gizmo so I can wax all those areas and don't have to worry about it for possibly a month or two. Including waxing my face of hair. That would be great for experimenting with.
This could be a good thread. Some things I'm doing more and more is crossing legs in a feminine manner when sitting,
using more "feminine" words beautiful, wonderful etc. I am more open about my feelings, I aknowledge fear, sadness, love etc.
I try to do thing more calmly. Men are more "brutal" when opening doors, sitting down, eating and so on. I try to do things more
slowly and more precise. I think it comes across as more feminine. I smile more. I hug people like a girl would do.
I add new feminine manners like every week. I feel more and more like myself. It's a great feeling. I always wanted to be a warm
loving person doing things in style and with finesse. It's difficult being that kind of person w/o being feminine. :)
pee sitting down :o
(this scores many points with my wife)
Wow this is wonderful! Great suggestions. Ive been doing most of these since my teen years. Currently I have close to no body hair. I take baths and keep myself smooth. I try to dress in womans clothing under my everyday clothes. I paint my toenails. I use flat clear nail polish on some of my fingernails and grow them a little. Behind closed doors I dress in whatever seems pretty.
All this helps but being in tune with how you feel is the most important. Just be you accept yourself for you. Dont worry about the labels so much. Those some from the outside world. So like me, been dressing/acting more fem since childhood, just accept that you like what you like. There are women that talk like men and men that talk like women.
This is a great subject to talk about. I'm making my changes to the outside world slowly. Especially around those I know. So the little things the everyone suggests are a big help!
Hi all, thank you redshift1 for starting this thread...
So as soon as i came out to my wife i started last hair removal (lhr) of my beard. I've since added underarm, chest, stomach down to my bikini line and hands. I switched to wearing panties full time. Growing my hair out and keeping it in a more feminine style. I now wear skinny jeans (men's and women's, as long as they don't give me away yet so no fancy embroidery). My wife and I got matching interlocking heart pendants which look very feminine, I wear mine all the time and don't hide it one bit. I've also been trying to buy new tops but only buy clothing that's more androgynous leaning toward feminine. My wife is helping there, but she won't let me buy any woman's tops with buttons yet to wear to work, too obvious at this point. I wear t-shirt style nightgowns to bed and around the house (kids have not said anything yet).
I also have begun to show my feminine side by adjusting my walk, sitting posture, How I cross my legs and feet. Slowly adding more feminine hand gestures.
At home the other day I wore a pretty purple head band around the house, got a few strange looks and a couple of quick questions from the kids. I wore it again last night and not one question was asked and I didn't get one strange look, they just accepted it.
I've filed, sanded and polished my finger nails smooth, no one at work has noticed.
I'm currently planning to get my ears pierced in February when i start hrt. I'm also trying to find a few pairs of woman's shoes that i can wear while in boy mode without it being to obvious.
Anyway just like transtastic I too keep trying to add more feminine mannerisms each week, including vocabulary.
Oh and I also switched to peeing sitting down 100%, now that I tuck everyday 24/7.
Every time I reveal something more feminine in my daily routine the more genuine I feel.
A few more when I came to think of it...
Try not to occupy a lot of space when sitting, keep arms close to the body.
Hand in front of mouth when coughing, yawning and I don't do it but it would look very femme with hand in front of mouth when
surprised or laughing etc.
Also, become a vegetarian! ;)
I decided to present female anytime I was not at work.

That is beautiful, I love that idea.

It's great, I don't know why I didn't do it before! If you don't mind my asking, are you able to "go" while tucked? I've never tried, though I am interested to try, but I don't really have a good idea about the finer points.
QuoteEvery time I reveal something more feminine in my daily routine the more genuine I feel.
Me too. I hadn't thought about how many little but significant things one can change without becoming conspicuous. It always felt like the slightest thing would get funny looks, but it doesn't seem to be that way. This is all so new to me that I have some anxiety about whether I'm really doing the right thing. But every time I take another little step, I feel more me, and want to take the next step even more.
Paint your nails. Use clear nail polish if you don't want people to notice.
Wear underwear. Heck, wear a bra too. Worn properly few will notice (unless you want to be noticed).
Wear pantyhose and tights below your clothes if you like those.
Shave all your body hair. Legs and arms especially. When I shaved my arms I couldn't stop looking at them for a good few days.
Dress up femme at home. Does wonders. I am full femme at home most times (except when I'm doing home renovations or car repairs/maintenance and don't want to dirty my good clothes).
Some that may be a bit more daring:
Wear women's jeans. Some are similar to men's but they fit differently. They always fit me better actually.
Wear v neck t shirts, women's. Wear women's t shirts in general?
Wear women's shoes that don't look too obvious.
Wear eyeliner... I can't begin to tell you how many times I've worn eyeliner in guy mode, even.

I like briefs and hipsters. Hanes cotton is what works for me. Make sure you get your proper size. The pack usually has size guidelines. I have a few silk ones and they are OK but for most everyday wear I prefer cotton.

You're really only tucked when you have your underwear on. You'll have to re-tuck after you do your business. Sometimes I don't even bother tucking, depending on what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing tight pants, sure I'll tuck and it looks nice and flat. If I'm wearing a skirt I will do a minimal tuck. If I'm wearing jeans I won't make much effort tucking since the bulge isn't really noticeable.

Most people do not pay attention to you. So enjoy yourself, be yourself.
If youre working out at home or out running even.... yoga pants! ;D
Id be careful with the bra thing. I did that and someone patted my back and noticed.
Shampoos, lotions, anti bacteria, hand soaps, hair care, perfume. ...as girly as you can get away with. Then discard all male smelling stuff.

That's true. But I try to keep people away from there anyway. I don't like pats on the back or similar and I avoid them.

I remember a long time ago, a coworker was patted on the back and we all thought it was a bra but it was actually a back support brace to help with posture. You could say that is what it is.

I'm not good at lying lol
I can't really do much until I move into my own home, but I do get to do some more subtle things.
I stopped wearing baggy or loose pants, now I wear tight men's pants and occasionally skinny jeans. I started sitting down to pee if I wasn't in a rush. I bring my legs up into the chair I'm sitting in because it feels feminine to me. I've started to shave my whole body. Let my emotions show more than I used to. Talk with my friends a bit more feminine. I had a girls shirt that had one of the shows I liked on it, I'd were it out in public with a tight, girlish hoodie to hide the sleeves.
I can't really buy anything online because some sites make their packaging too obvious and my brothers are nosy and tend to open other people's packages.
Can't help you with other people opening it, but I bought a lot of clothing on Amazon which comes in bags or boxes and isn't suspicious at all.

I am, I still have about 3 dozen people who think I'm a girl as friends in an online game. Now don't judge me on this, because I don't use it negatively or to my advantage. I just have a female character, avoid masculine words and subjects, and act very feminine. I don't use voice chat, so they only know me by what I type.

Was actually going to try Amazon, maybe just get some more zip up hoodies and choose ladies t-shirts when I find a good one. Maybe some skin products too.
I'll get other stuff when I have my own address.

Im not so sure I'd call that lying. You do identify as female, no? Also lying through type is different. 1000000 times easier
As I lost weight, I kept switching to tighter and tighter pants and clothes. I think I look better, and I like the way it feels. I made sure to hold onto some of my larger sizes, though, so that as the hormones take more effect I can dress baggy to maintain stealth.
If you don't do so already, I would suggest getting manicures. Gel lasts the longest. You could start with clear polish, and after people get used to it and stop noticing, you can get more bold. My next stop was silver, which I liked quite a bit. For the last couple of months, though, my color of choice as been black. I am considering trying out white for Christmas, but I'm not sure; I really dig how the black looks.

Wow, now that you put it that way... I see where I went wrong. Idk, I screw up what I say sometimes and end up making things bad for myself.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'm still learning and tend to goof up a bit.
I'm sorry, I really want to hide away and just forget that I ever posted that.... I feel bad that I made myself sound like a fool.
I found the best way to pick up habits from either gender is to observe them "out in the wild". If you have a local park, this is a great place to start. Most people at parks are relaxed enough to mostly be themselves, sure, you're still seeing their public self, but no one's walking like a toy soldier because they're worried their boss might be oggling them. Most people won't think it the least bit odd if you sit on a park bench and watch, so long as you aren't outright gawking at people like you're out on a people-shopping trip. Malls are likewise a good place for this.

Love it all!
Regarding perfume I suggest getting small decants rather than going straight for a bottle. I've sampled like 50 different fragrances so far and I can say there are some amazing things out there.
And... The fun part is that in the perfume world gender bending is approved and even encouraged lol
Whoever needs some tips feel free to PM.
I've done a few things. like getting eyebrows done, wearing women's deodorant, and wearing a women's underwear.

Brows can get noticed. I got looks when I did mine. It was the single most effective feminizing thing I've done to date and it was pretty drastic.

Whoo!
Well truth be told I dislike shoulder rigs but it goes with the territory (I'm an ex LEO).
The brow waxing wasn't that drastic in my case, but gay men seem to notice (some of them are pretty cute, but I don't want to be treated like a man), while almost everyone else is oblivious or won't say anything, and I have to wear safety goggles all day so I'm not sure anyone would notice if I slowly got a more feminine shape. It can help sitting down while going, but this only works some of the time in public, where men's restrooms can be horribly filthy. The other thing that can help is shave or wax your body. It also helps to adopt a feminine posture and walk more like a female.
I like to put on some perfume before I go to bed then shower away the smell the next morning.

Brows are something you can thin over time, making the change look less drastic to those around you. At some point, though, you'll have to go in there and just say what you want. Eventually, I just told the lady to make them pretty. She got what I meant.

I did gradual and one day it became drastic.
I am trying to grow it back though, I want a different shape.

I love women's jeans, but definitely stick to the ones with subtle back pocket designs for everyday wear.
I switched over to wearing a few v neck t-shirts (hot pink and florescent yellow) layered with button down shirts over then (all from American Eagle). In the future I'll go for the woman's v neck t shirts. I would love to get some woman's button down tops but I think that's too obvious with the buttons on the opposite side. Has anyone tried this in guy mode before?
I'm trying to get some woman's shoes that I can wear everyday. That's what I'm stuck on, although I purchased a pretty pair of pink sneakers for men (yes for men, they support breast cancer awareness) from Amazon and I love them and wear them allot. But I need some pretty black casual looking shoes with an appropriate looking heal...
I'm working toward wearing eyeliner and mascara. Has anyone been successful in pulling this off in guy mode?

First off, check out the Payless Shoes website. They have a huge variety of styles and sizes. I got a couple of really comfortable pairs of flats that I wear around the house all of the time. I also got some really pretty heels, which I'm using for practice. Finally, I got some really great low-cut boots with a modest heel that I'm currently wearing right now. Although women's boots, they are unisex enough to not look too feminine while I'm wearing my regular male attire. I love them.
Since I'm presenting in guy mode most of the time, I've put the eyeliner aside for now, but during the summer (I teach) I began to wear it all of the time. I really liked it, and got only a few odd looks. The only times that anybody mentioned anything to me was when they said that I seem to be going for a more Gothic look. Apparently the eyeliner paired with the black fingernails delivered that impression. It's fine, I do have some goth leanings anyway, so whatever.

I was wearing women's clothes before coming out. Nobody noticed, or at least nobody said anything. I think it was because I wasn't very "woman-shaped" (a term I hate since it reinforces sexism)

Some flats are very androgynous. I stuck with women's Vans shoes. I also skate a lot so yeah, nobody noticed.... Except the ones that had flower print...

I was wearing makeup (foundation, blush, and mascara) daily for about 5 months before coming out at non-gender. Then I progressively presented more and more femme once I was out at work.
I am wearing a slipdress in bed (softer and more comfortable than anything I have worn so far) and I have been wearing a scarf with a floral print for a few weeks months ago. Nobody has ever stared at me or asked me why I was wearing it; or maybe I am just oblivious . You could try using make up and wearing womens' clothes if you are all by yourself. For mannerisms... I personally don't think there is a lot of difference between female and male behaviour and I don't think there are a lot of quirks you can specify as feminine or masculine.
