Hi Everyone. I thought this might be an interesting question: What special talents, gifts, or abilities have you discovered you have since beginning transition?
Well, to start things off, for me I've discovered I've a very good talent for fashion and I've become a sort of Fashionista here in my neighborhood and even online to some extent. Here friends are always wanting me to go shopping with them for outfits, shoes, and such. It seems I have a very good eye for what looks good on who and am reminded of it almost daily. I'm also good with makeup too but fashion seems to be my main forte.
Many of us have to reshape our lives somewhat and in my case, since strengthwise becoming weaker as female, I'm having to give up fixing boats for the most part, and find other ways to work for myself on the side to make ends meet. Discovering new talents and abilities has helped me considerably. I'm hoping to hear many of you too have discovered new wonderful talent and gifts within yourselves. Abilities/Talents you didn't know you had until beginning during or after transition that will assist you in your new life.
Happy Holidays Everyone!! :icon_bunch:

I'm certainly much better at dressing myself now...it helps that there are so many more options with women's clothing.
My super power is my smile...I now have the ability to make even grumpy people smile back.
I'm amazed that I've been able to master a feminine voice.
Also I've become adept at mental pain control, after more than a year (so far) of electrolysis.

Ms Grace you look absolutely radiant in your new Avatar, and I have to agree, you have a very lovely smile as well.
@Suzi; Yes, mastering a good feminine voice without surgery is one of the most difficult things we face on our journey. Some of us such as myself only are able to achieve middle of the road results good enough to pass as female on phones and in person when coupled with our appearance and presentation, but to truly achieve a sultry feminine voice is remarkable so I offer my congratulations!
@Hanazono; An advanced BS detector, Congratulations on discovering your ability!
Happy Holidays!
Ally ;)
Self confidence and the ability to be open with people and friends, instead of feeling like the world's biggest liar all the time! ;)
Somehow gained the ability to sing better and can withstand so much more BS without crying easily.
Does gaining happiness, compassion and empathy count?

It does as it helps you lead a better life. Your a musician Jill, Do you write songs, music for songs? Has any of your musical ability gotten better since transition?
I'm just curious as I use to play music too but my ability to do so a you know got cut short by my 91 accident. I would love to see what or how my musical talent would have changed since beginning transition.

I have 2 bionic legs, a bionic arm, and 1 bionic eye. I am faster, and sleeker. I am the worlds first six million dollar ->-bleeped-<-, oh, and I have a bionic dog too.
I am at the center of my group of friends now. I don't even try to do this, and I'm not especially charismatic, but it all seems to fall in place this way now. Everyone just revolves around me, even when I try to throw the attention elsewhere.
I'm not sure if this is a gift or a curse that has awakened.
I sing a lot more now, and on key and getting into higher and higher ranges.
I have played guitar for forty years, I never ever sang now I do, not well, but at least I can express myself now.
Great answers everyone! Its great to know others are discovering new talents and gifts they have since beginnng transition!
Happy Holidays! :icon_bunch:

Forgive me for going off-topic, but Ms. Grace, you look like Gwyneth Paltrow to me, Especially from the Ironman movie series minus the blonde hair. I think she is gorgeous so please don't feel offended if you do not believe she is attractive to you. Sorry I could not help myself, every time I see your avatar picture I think about Gwyneth Paltrow LOL!
