Hi all,
As the title says, I'm now more than two months post-op and there are palm-sized areas on my chest that are completely numb. Can I assume this is going to be permanent? It's kinda weird but not a big bummer if it's true. I'm just kinda surprised because I'd read about loss of nipple sensation but not loss of sensation to big areas of skin like this.
Thanks,
V
I experienced the same thing. I'm about a month away from being 1 year post-op and I still have these patches, although I must say that they have diminished in size. My left pec has a larger numb area than the right.
I experienced that for a few years post-op. It does get better with time, though complete and normal sensation has still not returned to me, at 4 years post-op. not numb, just feels a little weird...
I had trans-unrelated surgery almost 2 years ago and I seem to have gotten all sensation back. The numbness can linger for months. I think the doctor originally told me after 6 or so months the scar and numbness would be about what I could expect to live with for the rest of my life, but it was a long time ago, so I don't remember the exact number that well.
I had top surgery a year ago. I'd say it's normal and it goes away in time.

Two months is a relatively short time when it comes to top surgery. I'm well over year post-op and my sensation is still questionable but it's way better than what it was a year ago.
BTW, I don't mean I have sensual feeling in the nipples. I feel cold, heat, pressure (I gather pain). I also think that sensual feeling is more of a brain/memory thing (not saying anybody at all is lying). The brain is an amazing thing.

I have such a thing was with abdominal surgery (not related to TS). Some nerves were cut and the part of the right leg numbed. It's continued for a long time, but after about half a year it's began to recover and passed.
Hope, It will pass!
I've had two non-trans related surgeries. One was one the chest and one on the throat. It took a long time for the numbness to go away. At two months, it's totally normal to still have numb spots. I wouldn't worry about it.
