Title: Helping the face hairs
Post by: SyrBigDog on December 16, 2014, 03:01:30 AM
I heard about someone that has only been on T for 5 weeks and they shave every day.  Their reasoning is to help the new hairs/whiskers come in stronger.  Anybody have experience with this?

This is actually a myth.  Shaving doesn't scientifically do anything to help hair growth - it can make the hairs that grow back appear thicker because they're blunted on the ends instead of tapered, but it's an illusion.

That's right, it's a myth. Basically it's testosterone that will do the job, shaving makes no difference.

That is what I figured.  I'm still trying to filter through all the info online.

I'm a bald guy and when I shaved yesterday I actually went a little down the sideburns this time.  Finding myself "checking" for any differences in texture now.  Totally understanding the impatience of transitioning.  For someone who has ALWAYS wanted facial hair,  hopefully it happens.
