I've been taking DHEA since last summer or so, but haven't had any T yet. Thing is, I occasionally passed before DHEA, but now I pass all the time. I've been growing out my sideburns and I can dye them, a lame neckbeard, and a mustachio thing to look like at least a normal person my age's facial hair. My voice is a lot lower and it cracks occasionally :D I weigh the same as I did in middle school (I was fat), except now with a bit of a potbelly lol and I love it. I lifted weights twice and already I notice some bulk. The only people who ever misgender me are people who I've known since before who either don't accept me or don't know. Strangers never mess up. Is any of this normal? Am I really, really lucky? Do a lot of FTMs pass pre-t? I only know myself and one other guy, so I don't know how much progress I should have by now.
(My parents even noticed the face fuzz and my aunt says my voice has gone down an octave. She was trying to make me feel bad by saying that, lol, none of my adoptive "family" gets it)
Hey,
I know that is probably not what you want to hear, but I still want to caution against self-medicating, even with over the counter supplements. Excess DHEA can take a real toll on your liver. Don't take that risk.
I think it's different for everybody, because anybody can be FTM. Some guys can pass naturally, without taking anything at all. I wonder if I'll even pass post-T.
I was wondering about the safety of that o.o I might try something like that if there weren't any health risks involved, but I'm afraid of messing my body up (even worse than it already is).
How many milligrams of DHEA are you taking every day? Curiosity and such.
If I'm not mistaken, DHEA can convert into testosterone or oestrogen. Since your brain is wired for male, it's probably converting to testosterone.
This may sound great, but you have to remember that it's also increasing your risk for heart disease. If you're going to keep taking it until you get T, I'd ease off to less than 5mg a day.

In everything I've read it states that females convert excess DHEA into testosterone, and males convert the excess into estrogen, but it has nothing to do with what your brain is wired for, it's more about your body's hormonal make up. But I'd caution against using supplements as well because they aren't really regulated in the way prescription drugs are and medicating when you have no handle on the subject can destroy your body thus hurting your chances of being able to take T.
DHEA can be very damaging to the body. That is why pre-T guys are warned against using it. If you plan to go on T, please get on it as soon as possible and ditch the DHEA.
