Recovering from bottom surgery and it is EXTREMELY itchy now, driving my crazy. I really can not resist the urge to scratch and my skin has started to break from it. It increases the risks of infections so I am a little worried. If you have any experience/tips please please help!!! Thanks!!!
benedryl helps with itching, plus it will put you asleep so you won't be itchy.
Topical stuff will work too
neosporin + sensitive skin itch cream. Benedryl or calamine lotions will probably work for you. I used to use dry skin lotion and aloe gel because it moisturizes the skin. Wash your hands before applying anything. You can also use the creme for yeast infections at night-it works wonders. They have the creme by itself it's usually called miconazole.
Good luck

Congrats on the bottom surgery!
Since that is such a fragile area after surgery, I would strongly suggest you contact your surgeon and go with their suggestion ( you may want to post this to the bottom surgery child board, as well... better chance of hearing from people who have had bottom surgery).
Grett's advice is good, you don't want to do much itching in the area as everything is fragile and tender and you don't want to move things around that could hinder healing and possibly cause an infection. Check with your dr, benedryl could be very useful to help the itching. One thing I always hear is that itching can be a good indicator that the nerves are reconnecting lets hope that is what is going on in your case.
