Title: facial hair frustration
Post by: michelle82 on January 01, 2015, 07:15:10 PM
what is really frustrating me is that my beard shadow is still very dark and patchy around my chin having only had three laser sessions now.  It's somewhat bearable for a half of day if i have a fresh shave. However because my skin is sensitive i tend to not shave every single day (let alone twice a day), otherwise i break out and my skin gets extremely irritated.

This then makes me more frustrated because i then don't want to go out or be seen by anyone because i feel hideous with beard shadow. if i have to do anything i have to then slip back into boy mode stealth (yuck).

Then as i get frustrated about my shadow, i get even more frustrated that i can't live life and do stuff without hiding my real self. so it creates this nasty cycle of stress and anxiety.

friends and family try to convince me to not stress over the shadow, but i feel very uncomfortable going out trying to present as a female, wearing female typical attire, and having a weird patchy 5'clock shadow.

can anyone else relate, or did you just say not let it bother you???? I know i just have to be patient and let the laser do its work, but it gets rather annoying.

*venting done*

I can relate! I have really sensitive facial skin that doesn't respond well to shaving everyday, and I too try to avoid going out and about when I can't/don't. It's very limiting and annoying..  I'm trying to find a place to get laser treatments soon.. so you're ahead of me!  :D

Me too~! Even with a clean perfect shave I have a shadow still! I've had electrolysis done, but switching to laser (first appointment Jan 9th!) because I have very dark hair and white skin and the laser lady said I would see faster results if she lasered my face then touched up with electro after several sessions :-\ I personally think she wants my $$$ but...
I want faster results and no shadow!!! ASAP!!! Go laser Go!
