I know its a tiny step but I shaved my legs, pits and body hair off for the first time today. Its the biggest change I've made so far. My left knee and right ankle are cut to shreds but it feels great. :)
No more tights (pantyhose) with a Denier rating normally reserved for blast furnaces.
Again a small step but thanks for reading.

Smooth!
That was one of those "WTH am I doing?" moments for me! Keep reporting your little steps, they add up and get you where you're going. :)
Hugs, Devlyn
I went for waxing first rather than shaving. I little bit of pain and a lot of gain. Nothing grew back for weeks. Felt great!

That was my first step down the rabbit hole. Enjoy as only more comfort to come.

Like Ms. Grace, I waxed first. But I know that awesome feeling when you FINALLY get rid of that unwanted hair. Congrats!
Welcome to the no hair club. I love wearing sheer pantyhose, which require shaved legs. While I was in denial, I used to shave for athletic purposes, so I have lots of experience getting the hair off. I can usually get a few days before the stubble become visible.
Little tips on how to shave, while minimizing the nicks.
1) Get a body razor, if you're in stealth mode you can pick up the men's version of the Venus in manly green/black.
2) Secondly, use shaving cream.
3) Thirdly, you want to keep the blades clear, I use an old tooth brush to clean out the build up.
4) Finally the best technique is to first shave with the grain, I prefer to focus on the knee area first the the foot and ankle area with lots of little strokes, keep the handle at an angle and pull the blade along. Once the tricky bits are fixed, it's easy to shave in long smooth strokes. For any areas where the hair seems to resist go back and shave against the grain. I always have to go back and make sure I don't leave anything on the back of my thigh/upper leg.
Good luck,
Hugs

Hooray! Any step forward is a great thing, glad to hear it went well! :)
and don't worry, it'll get much easier. I've shaved my legs since 9th grade, and early on yeah I cut my legs to ribbons. I thought I was just clumsy/bad at shaving until a few years later when I got on HRT, turns out I was just a bony, knobbly human being!
Once HRT has put some weight on your legs it becomes SO much easier to safely shave them.
I haven't shaved my legs in months and I don't even have any leg hair anymore. It's awesome.

Congrats on the big step. Isn't great to feel smooth and no body hair! I started out shaving and then went to waxing. I had a full body was (neck to toes and everywhere in-between) and it was great. It is going to be difficult to do this where I live so I may have to resort to shaving again. Looking into laser and electrolysis.
Me too!! Cut myself good too, wish Id read Alana-Jane's tips first!

I just waxed my arms a couple days ago. No real pain to speak of since HRT thinned out the hairs a bit (and they were thin to begin with). But oh so smooth they are. I can't stop feeling them...

I kind of don't have to shave much either. I am surprised at how slowly it grows.
I did this a week ago myself and I love the nice smooth soft feel. I would recommend on using lotion afterwards, so nice.
Feels great eh?
I used to shave legs, arms, front side etc..
HRT sorted front side and back, Electric Epilator for arms and legs (lasts 2 to 3 weeks) HRT has helped fine up the hair.

Amazing after shaving huh? I personally started to wax and it gives me much better results ;D, I have shaved a few times and I just shredded my legs, all power to you every little step to feel more female huh? :)
Been shaving the legs for a couple of years now, at least once a week. The rest of the body I have been shaving for many years. I am so used to it by now. It would seem strange if I didn't do it.
That feeling after your first time shaving is absolutely euphoric!! Every step no matter how big or small it may seem is a step in the right direction and that much closer to being complete :) Gl hun <3
I loved my first time, but hated the razor bumps EVERYWHERE because I didn't do it right :P
I will tell you girls, 'witch hazel' really works to help with razor irritation. You should be able to get it at the local market in pharmacy. I started to use it just before my first waxing, and have used it ever since.
Count me in. I have been shaving my chest and belly and private area for a few years. Then did my arm pits a week or two ago along with top half of my legs. Well last night I took the plunge myself and did full legs. I do have to say I love the way they look and feel. Thought about waving need to look into it I guess until I can go in for laser. Can we say smooooooth.

This was one of the first things when I decided to start feminizing. It wasn't entirely foreign, as I'd shaved various bits here and there fairly regularly, but it was the first time having everything done all at once. It was really weird at first, but after a day or two I don't think I can even imagine letting it grow back out. I get bumps moderately badly in a few places, but from experience I expect them to stop coming after a month or two of gentle treatment. They're getting better already.
The only thing I don't like is that the lack of hair causes my body odor to change to something that I find unpleasant. Using antiperspirant instead of just deodorant helps a bit. I can't quite decide if it's really a less acceptable odor than before, or just different. In any case, I'm hoping that HRT will reduce or at least change this... the sooner the better!
These lil steps are important and are one of these moments where you ask yourself what in hell you are doing like jessica said
Congratz and live the smoothness :)
OMG bikini line and inner thighs started itching like hell today at work. Manpant's elastic presses all the wrong places.
I've never been so glad to get into a skirt!!
Used lotion on them today like Amanda-Marie suggested, felt soooo good!
Love, hugs and thanks for all the support.

congrats and I hope the itching goes away soon. This is an important (and painful) step for a lot of girls mentally. If you choose to shave, their is a product called bikini zone that helps with itching and bumps that happen especially when you first start. I use a combination of shaving and waxing and I am moving slowly to waxing. Don't worry about getting it perfect at first and be really careful (I sliced up my ankle over a couple weeks ago and and it is still painful when it gets rubbed by my socks), wait a few days to a week for your skin to recover a little before you shave again, soon you will be able to shave thoroughly and keep everything smooth.
Smooth legs is amongst the best feelings. Painted toes and smooth legs with moisturizer is even better. To me, that is bliss.
Once you start, it's almost impossible to go back. Summer time is hardest, how do you justify this if you're not full time. Why the heck do we even need to justify it should be the real question. It's 2015.
im gonna bitch for a moment..................the price of these razors is a RIP off!!!!!!
One thing I've been doing is to stagger the shaving between days. Basically, arms is one day, torso the next, and legs another. Usually try to do one of them each time, occasionally two, so that everything stays reasonably under control but I don't have to spend an hour in the shower...
I first shaved my legs when I was 18, which was a lifetime ago. If I had the time, the funds, and the patience, I would totally laser everything I could from the legs up! :icon_google:

Used to shave twice a week or more and what a mess.
So many razors, may they rest in peace in the big shaver shop in the sky.
Have had 5 sessions of laser and low dose E what a difference.
Silky smooth and have not had to shave more than once a month.
So much better so if you can get the laser to attack them.
For me it was so worth it.

Going to make the trip to Laser Clinic, for more than just hair reduction (got a lot of sun damage and early adult smoker lines)... but for a hair reduction mix of Fair, Dark and other mixes of hair on pale skin....
But a girl needs all the help she can get...right

It's a great feeling! It was my first real physical 'step' when I started to transition as well. Relatively little but it feels so important at the time, just be ready to keep up on the maintenance =P

Hi sorry about your cuts ( ouch ) try hair removal cream it lasts longer I epil now which hurts a bit the first few times but lasts even longer.
congrats... on this step
Shaving your legs is the easiest way to feminine yourself.. besides wearing nail polish... the two together look great
I was 19 when i first shaved my legs and smoothness feels great.. Just moisturize well. I started out with a razor too... actually i still shave my legs with a razor.
Once i started i did not want to go back... so i kept my legs shaved pretty much 2 years before i went full time.
I used an electric wet use shaver the first time. I love the smoth feel of hairless legs, also painted toenails hot pink.
