Title: how to wear a binder and other binding questions
Post by: em444 on January 13, 2015, 01:52:38 PM
So I've seen many "how to bind" videos and everyone says you should push your breast "down and to the sides/out" when binding but then I was reading the "how to wear" section on lesloveboat.com and it said you should push them "up and inwards" which sounds somehow more logical to me and also more comfortable. I'm very confused about this. I also have trouble measuring myself since my chest is saggy and sort of hanging down or something and I'm not sure how to go about it while measuring. I'm supposedly a B cup but they look bigger than that to me so maybe I'm a C? But then I don't necessarily fill B-cup bras all around either. It's like they were long but not necessarily wide, it's so weird xD.

Hey, when in doubt, it is always safer to go with the larger sized binder. If you get a size too small there is a greater chance of getting injured while wearing it. Just look at the size chart for whatever binder you're getting and see what size seems like the best fit.

As for the way to put it on, I don't really understand what they're saying either. The first time I put on a binder I tried to get it past my shoulders and kind of put it on in a way a t-shirt would go on. Needless to say, I had a lot of trouble and I might have flopped around like a fish a little bit. You can try my method first (0/10 would not recommend), or you can attempt to put it on up from the legs. You can do the latter one in the beginning, but the binder will stretch out, and you'll be able to put it on over your head easily after. It gets easier to put on, trust me--I really would have needed those words the day I got my first binder lol.

Good luck.

Thanks a million ^_^ Also, do you think the velcro binders are worth it?  or do they have disadvantages of their own?

I was hoping I'd find a "stuck in my binder" tale in this thread and you did not disappoint me, sir!

The only binders I have ever bought were the Underworks tri-tops. Idk anything about other binders, sorry.

I put them on like a t-shirt and I've never gotten stuck in a binder that was the correct size. I know we all want to be totally flat, but I can't help but feel like it does more harm than good to cram myself into a binder that's too small.

Never used a velcro binder. I've had both styles from underworks (the half shirt and the full tank). I like the half shirt when I'm being more active, but the full tank for more sedentary days. I basically reach in through the arm holes and adjust myself up and out. I've found it gives a better illusion of pecs.

Thanks a lot ftmax. I really hope I'll manage to get the right size.
