I'll explain this as well as I can.
I'm non-binary and feel alright about most of my body, certain parts seem 'masculine' enough, other parts 'feminine' enough, and all in the correct place. Except one place, that being the genitalia I was born with. My vagina has been a great source of discomfort for me, it feels incorrect, opposite of what it should be. I know that I don't want to transition to being male, because I'm not a man. (nor a woman) What I feel I want is for my vagina to be a penis, then that section of my body will be correct and I'll look more on the outside like how I feel on the inside. It will be 'masculine' enough.
So here's the kinda odd question I want to ask: Is it possible to get the surgery that would change my vagina into a penis, and just stop there? No breast reduction, no testosterone, just the dangly bits? I imagine I'd have to take estrogen for the rest of my life since my ovaries would have to go, but I can live with that. What do you guys think? Is this a thing??? I feel like I'm nuts for asking this but it's important to me. Any advice is helpful!
I don't know whether its a thing, but if you need it than it certainly should be!! If enough psychs signed off on it, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to :)
It's possible to get the two referral letters but the surgery itself tends to rely on development brought on by testosterone unless you really want phallo.
You would need to find a surgeon and therapist that did not subscribe to the letter of the WPATH standards of care which require one year living as a man before you have bottom surgery.
IMO, this is an area where the medical community fails us. Cisgender doctors see transition as all or nothing and don't understand the way we do why someone might want genital surgery but not to transition.
Is it bothering you a lot? Do you have dysphoria or feel like your life quality is suffering as a result?
I haven't heard of someone wanting to do that before, but you should be able to find a surgeon to do it provided you can get a referral letter! But that will probably depend on the degree to which it's bothering you and how long you've felt that way.

I've seen it come up a fair number of times on the forums here.

I know of one very out person in Oregon, Stu Rasmussen, former mayor of Silverton, that did something similar. He, and that is his preferred pronoun, wanted breast augmentation but was not doing the classical binary transition course. He cross dresses but kept his name and gender markers and really wanted those lovely large breasts. He basically shopped around till he found a surgeon willing to accommodate his needs. It can happen!
I would imagine that these would be private practice surgeons and a cash upfront sort of deal. Most surgeons are risk adverse and want some coverage for the "regrets and suing you" potential. How sure are you that this is what will work for you long term? I bet the guys here know the surgical roster pretty well?

Your therapist/psychologist letters will have listed your desires for reducing your dysphoria.
The surgeon will work off of that.
So you will either need the letters or ask them how they will word the medical surgery intervention request.
