Title: Voice therapy typical session fee?
Post by: ainsley on January 16, 2015, 03:30:28 PM
For those of you that have gone to voice feminization therapy can you give me an idea of the session costs?  I just contacted one of the few in my area (middle Missouri) and the first session is $150.  I did not ask if that was the evaluation cost, and if subsequent sessions were less cost.  But tbh I was a little surprised at the fee and if it is that much every session then I could see this being very costly.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I can't remember the cost of my first session, but it was higher than the rest.  Subsequent sessions were $100 and lasted an hour.  It was somewhere around 5/6 sessions before I "graduated".

I'm not someone who has a ton of money to throw around but I feel that it was well worth the cost.

$100, and estimated time for me (everyone is different, practicing as directed is SUPER important) was about 6 months...I stopped after 1, deciding to save for Yeson.

Seems about right. The voice therapist I was referred to cost about that and then some.

Thanks for the replies.  I am going tomorrow for my first session.  I hope to glean some useful information and techniques from it.  I am not sure why I am so skeptical of voice therapy, but for some reason I am.  I will put my all into it and follow the directions to the letter.  I guess besides the money, I have nothing to lose!
