In the last week, I have been called a freak, ->-bleeped-<-got (I'm not even into men), disgusting, perverted, creepy and gross due to my gender dysphoria. All this while not, wearing makeup, clean shaved legs, nails painted or in any form presenting female characteristics or traits.
All of this came from someone very close which makes it even harder to digest. The person who has been so hostile completely refuses to hear about, or be educated in any form about dysphoria, and what transgender means. Men are men and a penis makes a man. Being told to be a man cause I have a dick is insulting.
It's amazing how you can be the kindest, loving and most caring person to someone, and after saying you're transgender all of your good traits become suddenly lost, and are replaced with things that are hurtful and untrue.
Apparently Bruce Jenner is the most famous TG person out there and the only example people are willing to look at, and I am becoming like her. Didn't even know she was out yet for one. It makes me so angry how people can be so rude, and ignorant regarding this issue.
Apparently clothing, makeup, and the like don't make a woman a woman, but having a beard, and leg hair makes you a real man.
Transphobia is so lame.
Sorry for the rant.
I've seen recent cover photos of Ms. Jenner. The last one I saw her makeup was entirely inappropriate for her face or, dare I say it, photoshopped? As to your friend, being that emotionally threatened by you makes me suspicious. Kind of like the old saw about the biggest gay bashers being in the closet.

BINGO! i have big tough straight friends with wives and kids who doubtless find my transformation amusing but have been nothing but supportive, and quite happy to carry on as before with life. this person sounds like they have unresolved issues of their own.
you are incredibly brave and strong and growing toward happiness and the people calling you those things are weak and miserable. to hell with them. we are the future, not them, because the new generations see there is nothing disgusting or gross about us, at least no more than the average human being, and opinions are changing. how long before a transgendered leader of a major nation? the mayor of my town is TG and we are proud of her.
Hugs ameliato. It hurts to lose a friend under any circumstances, much less in such an insulting and insensitive manner. I hope you can take some consolation in that you're well to be rid of this person - that their caring was fake and they were bound to turn on you sooner or later.

I wish we wouldn't do this. If Jenner is indeed transgender, then they are a member of our community and they deserve to treated with respect we'd give to any member, including declining to comment on their appearance unless our advice is asked.
This past month has been difficult for me as well.
Assaulted in a bar on Xmas, hatred from gay people (I don't know where that comes from), stupid stares, or comments. It finally got to me so I took a 3 week hiatus from the dive bar I go to.
I went last night, people were pleasantly surprised to see me there and wondered why I stayed away. My straight friends ALL came up to me and implied via their hugs to stay strong. So, I have strength again. I have more resolve to be who I am. Hopefully an inspiration to other younger trans folks.
Amielato, stay strong. Be yourself. I figure that if I have haters, I must be doing a lot of things right.
I have no idea if Bruce Jenner is trans or not. Not my call. But his right to privacy is paramount.
I deliberately call him as that is, as far as I wm aware how he publicly identifies
Please respect their journey.
Bruce Jenner walks his own journey, step by step. When they may need us we we here.

We are under the lgbtq term but none of the gay friends i know can understand me or GD and straight.
Many have been rough with the slips.
Many want to roll gender identity and gender attraction in the same blanket.
To quote yoda "thick skin are we!" keep with those who accept you without exceptions.
Hugs.

Yw.
Navigating this life path is full of mine fields. We just try and get through them as safety as we can.
Day at a time.
Hugs

Sorry, Suzi, I didn't mean it to sound that way, it was meant as a comment on the magazine going out of their way to post a bad picture.
Hugs Amelia. Time for a new friend I think, there's no room on our journey for small minded people, they only hold you back and drag you down...jettison them as soon as you are able. :)
Hi and thank you everyone for your words of support. I know this is part of the path we are given (it should not be, but is) but hearing if from someone you expect to be supportive is hard. As I am not in any form transitioned or even started to present as female, I know I will experience more of this in the future on varying levels from strangers and friends alike as more of it unfolds personally.
In reference to Bruce Jenner, I meant no insult or implications on his status. This was referencing the ignorance of the person using hate terms to me. This person said I was going to be like Bruce Jenner. He is of course the target of the media, and his story is everywhere if you are not familiar. Many people only know of trans people on Springer, and poor Bruce. An unfair representation of course. Apparently some think every trans person is some freak show. The troubling thing about this is whatever the case may be for Bruce, the media is teaching, and programming people to think it is okay to bully, ridicule, and hate transgender people.
Sorry for any wording that was interpreted wrong in my initial rant.
I completely understand what you're going though. My friends all currently act this way and I know I've very likely to lose them all once I come out. They already use these terms like it's nothing, so it'll only make matters worse in the end. There's absolutely no way to educate people like this as they will ensure that they don't retain a single fact, just for their benefit.
