Title: Your post HRT diet to put on weight
Post by: ganjina on January 26, 2015, 07:18:33 AM
Hey all :) !!

As I progress through month 5 of HRT, it seems the weight I put and lose goes to/comes from the right places, but now I've been having problems gaining more weight. I am 5'11 weighting "only" 143lb and I try to keep a high calories diet (2500-3000 a day) and without even much activity, I've problems not staying thin.

Right now I'm trying to get those calories in a not unhealthy way, eating a lot of healthy food and trying to go harder on nuts, dairy products, fat fish, avocado, grains...

Any ideas? Anyone in the same situation?
Thanks for your input.

I am about same weight, but work hard to keep it constant, do need to lose another 10 or so, but I am only 5'4"... Red meat? ( in moderation may help) Cheese is good for weight gain, if you want it... Not sure what BMI guidelines are for your height and as a women.... Worth checking that first????

Thanks for the reply. When I was a guy at some point I did a bit of modeling and had the same issues, we had an in-house nutritionist, and he recommended to take 90gr of lean mean (could be beef sirloin, turkey, chicken) with every single meal, and some types of dairy products (among which a lot of cheese and yoghurt) every day. Avocado, salmon, nuts, grains...

As a girl now I am eating all that constantly and eating a lot! But it's not enough and I need to put more weight. I would just like to put on about 10 pounds of healthy weight. A lot of people in my family struggle with "not enough weight" issues.

I lost quite a lot of weight (about 22lb) mostly around the waist (33" ->28.5") some on the under bust (33.5" -> 31.5") and also the hips (39" -> 37") through dieting.

I am now not trying so hard to stick to the diet and eating more carb rich foods. I have put 5lb back on in under a month. The fat is not going back to the waist or under bust like before. It is going to the hips (37" -> 38.25") and breasts feel and look bigger (definitely feel more fatty than gland tissue unlike before). Some fat has even gone to my face, as it looks a little more rounder too around the cheeks.

In the past few weeks I have had to eat a lot more food to get to this point, but ideally I want to lose muscle mass and gain fat to replace it elsewhere on my body. Fat does weigh less than muscle per volume, so hopefully my weight will still drop as I pad out.

34 months hrt: I've gained about 25 lbs. I started at 120, I hover around 140-145, 5'10. I'm still trying to gain like another 5-10 lbs.

I eat lots of pasta, cheese and meat. I find its best to eat small portions throughout the day vs a few huge meals.

Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
2x snacks

I'm at 27" for my waist. For the longest time I was at 29" hip has remained the same though.

I'm having the damndest time trying to lose weight! :eusa_doh: It's easy for me even though I eat lean. What makes me pick up weight is any food that is mostly carbs; bread, candy, sugar, etc. The good thing is with HRT, the fat moved in different places in the form of boobs and butt/hips, but I weigh the same as I did when I started hormones. So it balences out.

I'm almost six months on HRT and want to lose weight. I'm 153 and would like to get to 145 and stay there but I'm concerned I'll lose it all from my developing breasts. What to do!?  :(

It is true that there is a tendency in weight loss that a little comes off boobs, but if it's a little at a time and you keep some form of excercise I don't think it will have too much impact in growth stage.

Well it did not for me... Unfortunately mine stopped at 34B..... Hopefully the slight weight loss for me will come off the waist some more and back/shoulders, leaving butt and breasts alone  ;)

My weight is hovering around 168-170 despite losing muscle mass. I don't notice much of a belly anymore but I do exercise. I do notice more subcutaneous fat and of course, boobs, butt and some hips. I don't eat anything special but I kind of watch the carbs because I have type 2 diabetes.
