Title: Trouble not sounding like a child? (as a tenor)
Post by: lostandconfused on January 26, 2015, 10:17:39 PM
Okay, so I have trouble not sounding like a little kid when I speak in head voice. Normally, when singing, I can go as low as middle C (261 Hz) in head voice, and if I really relax, I can speak at 220 Hz in what sounds like head voice mixed with a little chest voice - although it sounds less than ideal. Where should I go now? Should I try to lower the pitch of my head voice?  ???

Hmmm, try seeking a  voice trainer / therapist, they can help you find the right pitch and how to project your voice.... if that is still limiting then reach out to Yeson in Seoul (Korea)...
I have heard some great results from there, not sure of costs, but is quite quick, but requires no speaking for a period of time, and relaxed limited speaking after for a while, but very, very effective. I will look there at some time soon...

Yeson can work magic but they can't fix everything. Resonance and prosody issues in particular require training to fix.

I would definitely recommend a good speech therapist.

Fair comment Kate... Cannot argue with that, but I do hear the success rate is good...

FYI Just downloaded EVA apps... Will try them as a stop gap to getting to a "real" vocal trainer  8)
