I've been getting several calls recently from a number with an area code from GA USA...didn't recognize it so I never answered...
Until today.
"Hello?"
(Lady with a heavy accent (maybe India?) comes on) "Hello, I'd like to talk to Miss Beth ----."
"Yes, I am Beth." (disappointed that I don't have a femme voice)
"No you're not Beth."
And she hangs up! I call back, and the phone thing says the "number is disconnected or no longer in service." I do a Google, and there are a lot of mentions of this number being a sales pitch, or a Canadian pharmacy etc.
Anyway, I thought it was funny.
NO, YOURE NOT BETH. *click*
:D
I'm called "sir" on the phone all the time (don't bother me, our phones are really crappy and sound bad anyways).
What's funny though, is when my pickup customers talk about the guy who took their order, but they don't realize it was me. Even when I read back their orders, as I did over the phone.

Hmmm, should try that sometime... ;)
Although get totally harassed by "marketing" calls... so now I tend not to answer numbers that I do not recognise....
But one of those "damn" but so pleased stories
