Do you have a transgender idol? Like mine is Andreja Pejic. Happy to hear yours :D!
Pete Burns, Genesis P. Orridge and Prince are my favourite androgynes :~)
[I'll omit the very obvious David Bowie!]
Laverne Cox <3
Just off the top of my head, Kim Pertis, and Jazz Jennings.
Lynn Conway and Christine McGinn
Skylar Kergil. He's the kind of person I want to be in life.
I have 15,000 of them.
You guys and gals.
I don't really have an trans idol. But I have always had tremendous respect for a Aussie named Carlotta..
Laura Jane Grace. as a trans musician, she really gives me hope.
Everyone who survives gender dysphoria, transitioned or not.
Those that transitioned openly in the past. Not just those that who spoke publicly advocating for a better future, but also those who just went about their lives openly being who they are showing their families, friends and neighbors that we are just people. Because every mind that's changed has a ripple effect that adds to greater acceptance.

You took the words out of my mouth. Susans Place is absolutely full of some of the kindest and strongest people I've interacted with.
When all this is behind me and I'm living life as my wife's wife in actual biological and mental harmony, I will always credit the people here for the critical support I needed when I was at the end of my rope and had to confront things. I can only hope to repay the favor and (stealth or not) continue in the footsteps by helping others start their own journeys.
Jowelle DeSouza, Lynn Conway, Marci bowers and Buck Angel.
Plus you girls and guys.

Oh my. Buck Angel.
*fans herself*
:icon_redface:
Totally wouldn't kick him out of bed. :)
lana wachowski comes to mind
Recent faves are Carmen Carrera and Youtubers like Gigi Gorgeous, Princess Joules and anyone who shares their before and after stories. Also people who have been on TV like Marci Bowers and Andrea James, and those on Discovery channel years back. I'll echo what's been said already, people here who share the same struggles as I do inspire me. I also gave a great group of trans friends who I meet with who have been an amazing support platform.
Reading about Lana Wachowski initially inspired me to consider coming to terms with my inner self.
But I'm also with Cindy on this one as well. I see so many inspiring people on this forum too!
I admire Susan, Andrea James, Lynn Conway, Melanie Phillips, and other women who gave advice, shared their experience, and provided resources on the Internet during the late 90s. Thank you for showing me the way, ladies.

Laverne Cox <3
I second this all the way!!! Andrej Pejic was my first Idol ( the dark time of our lives before O.I.T.N.B) He Is incredibly gorgeous and oh so inspirational!!!!! But Laverne Cox has got it in the bag. Sassy, strong, hilarious, loving, and of course drop dead beautiful!!! Truly an amazing Actress. Im so glad to see actual trans women playing trans women. I like transparent but god bless it give a real trans person some fame!!!! Who better to tell the stories? We've LIVED it!!! Like Dallas Buyers Club. Loved the movie but Jared Leto is a cisgendered man!!! urgggggg!! Still loved the performance but DID NOT care for his lack of recognition for the trans community. That really ground my gears.. (steps off soap box).
Balian Buschbaum. I recently saw a doco on tv about him, hopefully I can look as badass as him one day!
I'd have to say all of mine are on this site. I look across the various avatar images here, and I can't help but be a little envious of how frikkin' pretty you ladies are! Gives me hope, keeps me going.
I'm a big fan of Laverne Cox and Buck Angel. <3 Those two are the types of proud, confident, change-making successful people that I want to be.
And I seriously can not get over how body-confident and comfortable Buck is. Like I think so many people trans or even cis could benefit from a little bit of that total confidence he exudes.
Plus I identify with not having bottom dysphoria, and he makes me feel like I don't need to have bottom surgery to be a man others can respect. :)
Honestly? I don't have any. There really aren't any out there that I can relate to all that much. There really isn't a role model or an idol out there for us late transitioners, and that bothers the heck out of me.
I think that instead of a celeb type idol, I have many. Most of them right here. I have Susan to thank for making it all possible, to have friends, understanding and supportive people, information which sometimes helped directly, sometimes lead me to look in a new direction. Better yet, sometimes told me when I screwed up or had thoughts going in the wrong direction.
My idols are all of you.

Oh yeah Buck for sure!! :) He looks so good!!! I for one suffer from bottom disphoria, especially when it comes to my wardrobe! So Buck is someone I idolize as well! :)
My first transgender idol was Kim Petras.
I also have lots of respect for Gigi Lazzerato and Julie Vu.
Hard to pick just one.
I am inspired by many here and I like the Trans by Def. Youtube video's especially.
Fallon Fox.
Kristen Beck has my total respect.
I don't have an idol but there are many that I admire who fully transitioned and are beautiful people inside and out.
Laura Jane Grace 4 ever <<<<<<3
I like this thread! So many people I've never heard of and beg investigating...
My idols are a couple of the girls here specifically.
While I wont name names so as to avoid seeming like a fan girl stalker or some thing, I will say that it is because of those three women that I finally struck up the strength to start with proper therapy with the intention of hrt and fighting for myself to win the struggle to change and be 100% myself.
I don't do well idolizing people though...but especially not celebrities.
Who was the kickboxer they made the movie about? Shes my favorite. Ohh yeah and the t version of bat girl

Many of the better books are about those who transition later in life. My favourite is Lili Elbe, who's names is probably familiar to many here who have read the wiki page on mtf grs. The book about her is called The Danish Girl :D xx

Best answer EVER! And for the record, Bailey Jay is my hero!
Changing my answer to Aydian Dowling. Skylar really disappointed me recently.
