Title: Email advice?
Post by: FTMax on February 12, 2015, 07:37:32 PM
So I'm finally getting around to putting in a request with tech support at work to have my email address updated. I work for an international company with a bunch of small satellite offices, so tech support is in another country instead of down the hall. I think this would be super easy to explain in person, but I'm having trouble putting together a concise email that explains what I need and why. Our tech support is notorious for not honoring requests if they don't have reasons listed, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time with it.

Has anyone ever needed to make a request like this? Any recommendations/advice on wording?

I presume you mean you need to change the name to the new female one you have chosen?
Maybe mention it to your boss, or a female colleague who got married on the job and had to change her surname on official docs. Im sure it wont be a problem (any more than dealing with fr away tech support ever is/isnt!!)

Things like this can be scary and nervewracking or a true joy, it literally a matter of how you choose to view it. Option B is waaay more fun!

Dear Tech Admin - I have recently changed my name from X to Y, please update my email address accordingly. Regards Y

Can't see they'd need any more reason than that! Good luck :)
