Title: chat room
Post by: sam1234 on February 16, 2015, 03:23:31 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. Can anyone tell me how to go about using the chat room? I clicked on it, gave a nickname and wrote a message, but i'm not sure if it went through or there is something additional I have to do.

As computers go, I'm not well versed in their use, so simple would be appreciated.

You just write your message and hit enter. ON the right would be a list of names of people in the room. If there are ZZZ s next to the name, they are inactive.  The few times I've been there, there are few if any active people on.

Most of the time there are active discussion in #chat, so make sure you're in the main room.

As Kat said, there are a lot of people shown ZzZz, example being ZzZz|Matt.

This simply means that the user had been idle for more than 20 minutes.

If it's a quiet time, wait and try again. Hope to see you on soon,

Matthew

Thanks,
I think I was doing it right although I'm not sure if I had to put a channel in or what number that would be. It was about 2am and there were conversations going on, but I wasn't getting any responses to the messages I sent. It could be that they were already busy.

Sometimes, because of how many people there can be (sometimes we get up to 30 active chatters) messages can be missed, just keep trying :)
