Hey guys, so I've just hit 3.5 months on t. My hairline is ever so slightly squaring off, to the more male pattern. But lately I've noticed hair falling out if I run my hand through my hair, which never happened pre t. How do I know if this is hairline changes or baldness? Obviously I want to stop it asap if I am balding.
I have been on T for about 5 years and in the last 3 my hair started getting thinner. When it just started getting thinner it was like you describe it, I would run my fingers through my hair and I would have hair falling. And when I was in the shower washing my hair. I had that going on for about 6 months and then it stopped, the hair is still getting thinner but it doesn't fall out anymore. So hopefully you'll have the same experience, because that wont make you loose all of it. I was on Rogaine for a while but that didn't really help me so I stopped doing it because it was a waste of money for me.
It's not fun getting thinner hair but rather that than loosing it all ...
Hair thinning can be caused by many things, not all of them male pattern baldness. Consider getting that checked out. Have you been changing your diet or treating your hair differently (e.g. washing it more/less)?
I don't feel stressed, I have always washed my hair every day or two (everyday when I sweat a lot), and my diet is basically the same
One fairly common thing which can cause hair to thin is hypothyroidism. You might get your doc to check for this the next time you're getting blood tests, or sooner if it really worries you.
I'm about a month behind where you are, but my hairline has changed. No hair loss though.
This is what I'm most afraid of :P but it's probably just a result of the changing hairline, etc.
Due for another blood test in 6 weeks, so I'll have to mention it then. My hairline looks ever so slightly different, although I have never really payed attention to it. And the hair seems to be coming from anywhere on my head. It's probably 5 or 6 hairs at a time. My testosterone levels came back at 27 (average cis male range being 18-28) so maybe the really high level has something to do with it?
do you have longer hair? this happened to me on T more then it did when i was pre-t when i had longer hair (shaggy-ish). i was worried about it but once i got my haircut, it stopped.
Used to have shaggy hair, this wasn't a problem. It's quite short now. It's probably just my hairline but i will get it checked
