Hey there!
Not really sure this is the place, but it feels the most appropriate...
I've noticed that a lot of men don't have bags. They carry things in pockets, and just generally have less "stuff".
I can't do that. If I don't carry some form of bag with me, my anxiety spikes through the roof. I need a place to carry my "supplies" as it were. I always have a bunch of miscellaneous junk that helps me cope, not to mention just holding the strap helps me ground myself. And I almost always have a waterbottle as well, and my bag helps me carry that.
So I'm trying to find a bag that is more masculine than what I have. Because I've found that, while my bags aren't purses or overly feminine (gender neutral), they look like purses or quite feminine when I carry them.
Thoughts? I know backpacks are a good choice, but I've been looking at things like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/40Hot-selling-brand-bag-Canvas-chest-pack-bag-casual-backpack-shoulder-bag-multifunctional-bag/1053084869.html?s=p
would that work?
Could it also just be how I carry bags perhaps? Is there any resource for this sort of thing?
Thanks all.
A Messengers Bag is the closest you'll find to a masculine bag.
wow I thought I was the only person who had the whole "I need to have a bag with me" thing. Yeah I've always viewed messenger bags as sufficiently masculine. I see lots of guys on campus with them. There's lots of cool ones out there too. I have a Walking Dead (comic book) messenger bag. I carry it with the strap across the chest.

The canvas bag you listed looks nice too. I also see a lot of guys with backpacks or those single should strap backpacks. Dark and Neutral colors help convey masculinity too in this regard.

I have a few of these in differently styles. A lot of the models are customizable, so you can choose whatever colors you like. All sorts of styles as well. The first one I bought was a messenger bag, and I've since found that I strongly prefer backpacks.
I guess old habits die hard. When I go out , I put barely anything in my purse. I feel a little unprepared when I see women with what seems like half of their personal possessions in their purse.
I bought a Fossil satchel from Macy's in an after holiday sale. I love the darn thing :D
Plenty of men carry backpacks, messenger bags, bum bags. I am one of those that will still carry a bag everywhere.
My wife got me started carrying a small man bag a few years ago when big smartphones became the thing, and I also needed to carry two pair of eyeglasses, an Ipod, and a bottle of water. These days women's purses interest me more, but I still need a man bag for when I am presenting male.
Just google "man bag" and you will find there is a lot out there. They seem to be the big thing for guys who are taking short business flights, and need a small carry on that can hold an Ipad, a smart phone, and a few other things.
