Title: MS Access - tabletop/Pathfinder concept
Post by: KageNiko on February 25, 2015, 12:25:43 AM
So, in my job I get to use a lot of MS products, such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and the like. I've been teaching myself to code in Visual Basic, and I've even made a few test databases that turned out pretty good.  This has become a hobby of mine.

I'm now onto more complex ideas. I just finished a "Chores&Rewards" database to keep track of what I owe my kids for the thinks they do.  And now I'm thinking about putting something together for Pathfinder, since there is so much info readily available online. (www.d20pfsrd.com)
That way I can be GM with some of my closer friends.

The idea is to have all the important info at my fingertips, and allow my friends to use a separate, non-GM version for their own characters.

I just wanted to share, in case there are other VBA/Access gurus out there who had some ideas before I started.

You know, I'm thinking, before I get to that point, I'll throw together a quick Yu gi oh card simulator to see if I can, since it would have some similar concepts, such as auto updates in between turns. Shouldn't be too hard. ;-)
