Title: Minoxidil and beard color
Post by: Jared on February 28, 2015, 04:07:42 PM
Hey everyone,
I've seen some posts about Minoxidil lately and I'm wondering if it's good for darkening the hairs? I already have good enough growth from T, the problem is it's colorless. The hair on my head is blonde, but my facial hair isn't similar to that at all. I used to dye it to match to my hair, but if Minoxidil could darken it to a level where they match, I would try it.
Has anyone experience with that?

Beard hair is quite different in texture and coarseness from head hair. As far as I know Minoxidil is only for hair regrowth (by stopping hair loss in the first place), specifically for the top of the head. Hairs on the head and on the beard, will darken (if it's in your genetic/racial make-up) once those hairs go from vellus to terminal. For beard hair it needs testosterone for that happen.

Okay thanks :) I just have to be patient to see if it will darken. It's okay, hair dye is cheaper anyway  ;D
