I get a hair in my left nipple occasionally (im 16yrs old) and I regularly pull it out. kids at school said you can get breast cancer from doing that. is that true?
Not true
nope
Absolute load of crap. People these days are too quick to use "that'll give you cancer"...it's the modern version of "you'll go to hell if you do that".
Sounds to me like some of your schoolmates have been cooking up ideals in a cracked pot eh?
A hair plucked is one less to shave
Hugs
Well, I am still alive.
If plucking your haireolas caused problems, I think I would have probably exploded by now.
Plenty of ciswomen pluck them as well without issue. Besides, breast cancers typically originate much deeper than the dermis, where the hair follicles are. In fact, I wouldn't even worry about it causing skin cancer.
Pluck away.
No.
You can die from getting an infection in broken skin, but that's like a one in a million chance in the modern world with antibiotics. So it's only *technically* possible, like "getting struck by lightning on the day you won the lottery" possible. And you definitely can't get breast cancer from it.
The first hint at BS is, " ...kids at school said...". Pulling any hair has a very very small chance at infection, but thats if you never shower :P
I think I can safely say you'll want to die if you use an epilator to do it and accidentally get your nipple stuck in it.

Well, I am still alive.
Me too!
Zoe, Before I went on HRT and eventually lost all my body hair, I used to go nuts on pulling body hair out, finally ending up with an epilator to save me from ripping and tweezering but all healthy despite all that
You won't do yourself any harm, heaps of Natal girls still have the odd hairs here and there, including around and on the nipples, they tweezer or wax or use depilatory products...l

I used an epilady on my nipple hairs and got rid of 'em all. I should be a big ball of cancer by now! ;)

Sounds line something from a "Saw" movie.
And then the rest of my chest, stomach, arms, legs. No, not kidding. My hair's not very thick and I found the pain quite tolerable.
It's like my mama told me. Beauty is pain!
Plucking just sounds so painful. That's why I use a flame thrower.
Yes, I'm sure that will kill you. Just let them grow long. Come on GF, lots of women have small hairs around their nipples. Go to an electrolysis to have them killed if it bothers you.

Haha. In all honesty, I exaggerated. I wouldn't even call the pain tolerable. I would call it mild; almost trivial. I'm not very hairy and what I have is very fine and blonde. I'm happier with it just gone and it's fairly easy to get rid of it for a long time with epilady. I'm sure it's much more painful for most.
As Dalebert said, I too have frequently used my epilator on my nipples so I should be riddled with cancer, not true.
However it is true that if the wind changes your face will stay that way ::)
Just don't us an Epiphany. If you're American it really hurts and if you're British it hurts more.

Hah!! If you're French you just give up ;-)
It's been awhile since I plucked mine out, but that is because the few I had quit growing back 8) Anyway, I wouldn't worry much about it
