Hello there,
I want to braid my beard, like Jack the Sparrow. My own beard is too short, but I beleive there are some hair extenders exist. Kanekalon or dreadlocks or something like that.. Any ideas? And where should I go? Barbershop?
I would just wait until your beard grows out unfortunately and be patient. Beard hair is different than the hair on your head in terms of texture and the I don't think things like this are usually made except for stage props/on-screen production, which would likely not make an extender passable as actual hair when upclose and/or in certain lighting.
I always stare at guys that have weird ponytails or braids. If you want stared at that is probably a good way to get peoples attention.
I had kanekalon dread locks and another kind of synthetic dreadlocks on my head for about six months. You do not want those things hanging off your chin, trust me. If you want to have a styled beard, it's best to just wait.

Thanks, opinion from someone who had that stuff in hair was important for me.
Thanks you all, I will wait then.

I have tattoos, I have a car that people pay attention at.. So they do stare sometimes.
I'm quite ok with that, I don't care :)

No problem. I had synthetic dreads for about a year total. I enjoyed them but the skin problems and maintenance was difficult. I have never been tender headed and I've got a head like a wrecking ball but the weight on my scalp was horrible and it never fully went away.
A comment from another point of view. Waiting for your beard to grow may be futile. Mine was curly, almost like pubic hair and never seemed to grow longer than 3 or 4 inches when stretched. Certainly grow it, but don't be surprised if it stops.

Same here.. It is curly and I'm not sure it'll grow up longer than 4 inches.
About 2,5 inches now and I don't remember it being longer than 3-4 inches as well.
I decided not even to trim it and just wait for few more month. And I also started using beard oil (not sure if it helps)
Let's see..

Were you also moisturizing and taking care of your beard hair? If all of the hair in your beard was dry and unhealthy feeling to the point of feeling like pubic hair, it is pretty typical for growth to not happen, hence I would assume your hair also could have been damaged at that point.
Good point.
I started taking care of my beard, using oil and hair conditioner, and noticed a big difference.

I would use as much natural products on your beard as possible. Usually natural condition is a beard blog no-no, but I haven't tested it personally. I use a Goat's Milk soap with an oil complex and it's been like heaven on my beard. I also like UndercoverWax's beard oils.

Not dry and unhealthy at all, just kinky and curly and only grew out to a point. It looked like pubic hair, not felt like it.

Stared at in a good way or bad? I think they can be good on the right person

It's atypical for hair to top growing unless it's constantly shedding and you're also losing a lot of the hair that's already grown in. I don't know what your situation is then though. :p
