Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here, so nice to meet you all hehe! :D
I started hormones (estrogen, spiro, finasteride, progestrone) in January 2012. I recently underwent an orchiectomy, and was wondering if I need to keep taking spiro, finasteride and progesterone or not. :icon_confused:
I know this is a vague question, and everyone's experiences on HRT are different, but my doctor is pretty clueless with HRT. :icon_dizzy:
I know estrogen is for the rest of my life, but I am unsure about how long I need to be on spiro, finasteride and progesterone. I heard DHT is produced in the brain or something like that, so... does that mean spiro is for life as well? Also progesterone as well? So sorry, I'm quite clueless! :icon_redface:
If you could give me some advice, it would be greatly appreciated! :)
Thanks, love to you all xx :icon_tetter:
Hi Mayfuyu, Welcome to Susan's.
You would be best served by talking things over with a qualified doctor as the people here are not necessarily medical professionals. You shouldn't have to use spiro or fin but only your doctor can really answer you. They may choose to taper you off these medications.

Welcome to Susan's,
As Lordkat said please review it with your doctor. The finasteride and spiro are definitely topics to review with your doctor.
