Title: Spiro
Post by: asdasdasd123 on March 05, 2015, 09:01:30 AM
So the last time I got blood tests which was a fair while ago my T level was 1050~ ng/dl
and I was/still am on spironolactone, my doctor refuses to increase my dose even though my potassium levels are A-OK and even on the low side. I'm wondering what kind of results the spiro should have on my T levels.
Ive asked my doctor but he acts as though spiro has no effect on T levels.

*mod edit: no dosages or talk of self-medicating please

I think you need to read the sites terms of service as you're not allowed to posts dosages and DIY HRT. Your post will probably get deleted shortly.

Hi asdasdasd123,

I have been going to my PA-c for 26 months. I have been on hormones for 21 months. I saw my PA-c every 3 months the first year and did blood tests each time. Now I see him every 4 months and get blood tests twice a year. At every visit we work together reviewing my progress, how I feel, my relationships ( issues at home), therapy, hormones, hair removal, desire for being corrected and desire for documentation change and alcohol, drug and sexual partner state. Not all items are reviewed each time but we chat for 20 minutes. I always push for higher dosages of E my T is fine. I need a doctor I can trust and help me.

The point being I have a doctor parent relationship and he has my back. In return I am truthful to him (the best I can be) and we work together. My PA-c see's only trans, knows what he is doing and I respect him. If you do not have this relationship with you doctor then perhaps you may want to reassess and switch doctors or change how the relationship is maintained.

There are different delivery methods and dosages of hormones and blockers. A blood test is critical in knowing what is happening with your body.

I hope this helps and welcome to Susan's.
