Title: help in schools
Post by: sam1234 on March 06, 2015, 07:09:49 PM
For those of you who are still in high school, or middle school for that matter, has anyone been given access to an adult who is a transgender willing to go to your school and talk to kids who are also transgender?

The reason I ask is when I went back to my high school to change my transcripts, my old guidance counselor asked if I would be willing to talk to kids if they came out while in school. This was years ago, and it was my home state, so i said yes, but they never called.

It has to be hard dealing with all the issues that are specific to going through puberty as a transgender. Makes sense that it might be easier if someone who had been there was willing to talk to those who were having problems or just wanted to talk. Most schools will allow after school functions, and that way it wouldn't be as obvious for those who didn't want to be outed.
