Title: Relieving back pain caused by binding
Post by: Frank on March 11, 2015, 10:02:36 PM
Are there exercises or stretches to help with back pain caused by binding? My back is constantly sore and it's hard to sit in any position very long. It's also getting hard to breathe, even though my binder is actually quite loose. I expect most of us have binding related pain.

I used to lay back on a yoga ball and slowly relax my muscles. It wasn't a perfect cure but it did help stretch my shoulders out.

I don't have too much pain from binding, but my back is very tense per se. What helps me a lot is using a form roller (the brand I use is blackroll orange, but I'm sure other brands are available). It can be painful initially, but I'm getting lots of benefits from it. My back is less tense, and I I've gained more flexibility in my lats.

I've always had all over back pain. Binding only makes it marginally worse. Before doing anything else, I'd say make sure your binder is the right size and that you're not wearing it for too long.

For stretches I like to bridge and I like to stand and touch my toes. The bridge seems to help more for the upper/mid spine, and the standing toe touch helps the lower back.
