Title: LHR before having trachea shave
Post by: FinallyMe84 on March 13, 2015, 12:37:14 PM
I have one more session of laser hair removal on my face and neck to schedule, and I am getting a trachea shave in about 3 months. Does anybody know whether it's ok to have lhr this soon before the trachea shave operation, or should I wait till after? Thanks for any information. I'll ask my surgeon as well, but they're a little slow to exchange messages sometimes.

Before is OK, like a week before, or five days before. After is a little more tricky, and you should wait until the post-surgical swelling in the area is mostly gone. For FFS would be recommended to wait around 2 months, or even better 3. Trachea shave isn't such a big deal, and you should be save to have next laser hair removal session in about a month.

I did my sixth laser session 3 weeks before my FFS and it wasn't a problem, I also did a lot of electrolysis right up to a week before FFS and I was totally cleared before surgery.... Im not sure why Dr S says no laser or electro 3 months before and after FFS ??? No way... I started electro again at 13 days post op... I haven't had any issues ;) I do blend electrolysis though and that's usually fully healed 1-2 days afterwards... I didnt do a trach shave but Id think its the same circumstance....

Great, thanks so much for the replies, that helps me so much to be able to keep doing this before surgery rather than waiting like I was worried I might have to. Thanks again, girls! :)

You do realise its hair reduction?
They aren't dead. They get so fine they appear to be cilia
But after time they grow thick again
And when you have skin that did an overlap
What do you think will happen to hair that  grows out
Years later?
Untreatable imbedded ingrowns
Electro ftw

Wow, thanks for scaring me silly.

I do know it's a temporary solution, I'm going to get eletrol done soon after any hairs start to come back.

I'd get it done other places, but my funds are limited :(

In my experience a manual machine isn't thr best
You want to find something like a apilus
They discharge many times more energy and in a flash
So its tolerable.
You can find fast providers. I hold my current provider to
600 hairs per hour and she does it.
