Let's see how many people generalise and use this one person's poor judgement against the entire community and denounce us as mentally unstable.
I was relieved to see that the article did not misgender her.

Meanwhile, there are about 900 bomb threats total that require police action. Per year. In the city of Los Angeles, CA (other cities seem to have similar stats).

I've never met anyone who was born a man. Sounds like a medical miracle.

And a *really* rough birth, too...
Well, she could have been born a very SMALL man, like a Ken doll.

Stacie Laughton turned herself on Thursday for calling in a bomb threat to a hospital on February 27th. But this isn't the first time Laughton has been in trouble with the law.
Stacie Laughton won national acclaim when she was elected to the New Hampshire Legislature in 2012. That euphoria lasted one month when local media revealed that Laughton was a convicted felon. Laughton issued this statement in 2012.

Not sure if anyone's seen this yet, but I didn't see a post about it so here you go!
Personally my stance on this is a resounding "This is not the damn publicity we need! GAH"

How many fake bomb threats have their ever been charges filed for?
How many of them were ever attributed to transgender people?
Now, what percentage of these threats were made by transgender people?
What percentage of people overall are transgender?
See, I think we can prove here that most people who make bomb threats are cisgender, and among the bomb threat perpetrators, we show up much less frequently than we do in society overall.

Preaching to the choir but I know it's out there. I'm just waiting for someone to use this against us.
Next thing you know, some ultra-conservative state will combine this incident with perceived bathroom threats, and we'll have the trans-bomb-in-a-bathroom bill.
Unfortunately, air freshener won't take the stink off that one...

No joke. And all sorts of threats to public officials. Even today I assist in investigations of them. Some people don't realize that any threat is serious business.
