Title: heels
Post by: rachel89 on March 22, 2015, 02:41:58 PM
i tried on my sister's stiletto (I think) heels today. They were kind of small, but I have no idea how to walk in heels without breaking something or looking silly. I want some cork wedges so badly, but i am afraid I might have the same problem.

I only ever tried wearing heels once and after nearly twisting my ankle I never did it again.  Mostly when I was still working I always wore flat heeled shoes as with being 5ft 11" the last thing I needed was to look any taller.  As well as that with my job I was on my feet a lot so comfort was important.

Practice, practice, practice! There are videos on youtube that are pretty helpful. Its hard to get used to taking shorter steps also. Cis women have to work up to the big heels also

I love my heels and I am 6 feet tall.

As everyone knows the higher the heel the more difficult it is to walk, but not all shoes, even if they are the same height feel the same, some specially some high heel sandals are more difficult to walk with and it is not necessary because they feel flimsy, it more that the arch that the shoe has less or more angle; I really don't know the exact problem.

There are some 4" inch shoes in which I can walk like an expert but the sweet spot for me in heels is about 3.5 inches, unfortunately it seems that even on a size 11 which is what I wear, most high heel shoes are made with 4" heels.

Keep practicing and you may feel better wearing a wide width size so that the foot feels less discomfort.

Good luck and this is really one of those cases where "practice make perfect"

Walking on stiletto while carrying a heavy bag is not easy at all. My feet became sore after walking more than 2 hours.

Nowadays I wear those heels having a thick (1 inch) platform like this one.

The platform makes the heels far easier to wear. You can run on those heels.

If I didn't know otherwise I would have said the top photo was from a spread in a high fashion magazine. You look about 22 in it.

Oh.
Thanks, Charlotte.
Too much compliment to me!
You know I am more than 50, but I can walk easily with 4 inch heels.

I have crushed my left heal and ankle so heels are a bit of a pain in a short time, but my wedges I really love, I have to have some support on my ankle and there are many styles that go with any outfit and look awesome, i say try the wedges and get used  to walking in them

I'm a man obsessed with wearing heels, I think I've worn everything in existence xD Start with short distances, also start with a smaller heel and build your way up. When I was learning to walk in heels I would wear them every day, which ends up with really tired feet, but it worked for me.

Now I can spend a whole day in any type of heel, also don't make big breaks between wearing heels because then you'll have to start all over again

Start from wearing at home first!:)
