Like the title says, I'm getting a binder but need a reliable seller that isn't unreasonable with prices, and has quality.
I am going to wear it during school (8+ish) hours but will change during first for gym of course so I won't hurt myself,
but my main concerns are-
- Durability/Wear/Care/Price
- Wear ability/ with compression but not damaging
- Will the compression placed on chest will my chest surgery later on from wearing it for long periods of time negatively change the appearance of the results?
- Pros/Con of certain binders/maker, and with my *very* small frame and asthma will this damage me or can I prevent that?
Mostly health concerns, changes post-op top surgery appearance, and overall grade of the binder.
Thanks for answers!
I think underworks is going to give you a good price/value ratio. Be sure to follow the size guidelines. Do not go too small and don't wear more than 8 hours at a time.
If you are very small you might try wearing a compression shirt and see if this is helpful to you. Walmart and Target carry inexpensive compression shirts.

I've heard good things about underworks, but maybe also check out Gc2b. Both of my binders are from that company and I love them. I wear them all day and don't have a problem with them. Though I will say the first time I put them on they were very tight, but after a day or two they stretch out a bit. I would suggest wearing it at home for a few hours so you can get used to it, taking it on and off and such, especially if you plan to change at school.
And definitely, not matter which company you choose make sure you use the measurements specific to that company. They aren't the same across the board.
i wore underworks when i was binding. i found it comfortable enough but it's binding so it isn't the best thing in the world. i heard gc2b or w/e is good too and some say better than underworks. binders generally go for 30 bucks + shipping and w/e else so it isn't too bad. when you first wear it, it will be tight but it will loosen after a bit. i would wear it around the house first for a few hours/days to stretch it out before wearing it to school. when i got a new binder and i wore it around the house, then school (2 hours a day), then work (4 - 8 hours). also make sure you measure properly because if it's too tight you will have trouble getting it on/getting it off and breathing, plus other problems. if you're worried about asthma, get the size up. it will still bind but not make it super difficult to breathe. as for the results, it shouldn't effect your results but i guess that depends on how long/how you bind. i was binding since i was 19-ish and i'm now 23 + pre op and it didn't effect my results at all.
I have both an underworks tri top and a tri top gc2b binder. I've had them both for around the same time (2/3 months), but the underworks has stretched out quite a bit so I only use it for sleeping in, wheareas the gc2b one hasn't stretched out at all, not sure if that's bcos I wash it and wear it every two days, then switch it with my other gc2b and do the same. Even when new it didn't bind nearly as well as the gc2b binder (I'm a uk bra size B). The gc2b is also very comfortable, I wear it all day and my ribs never hurt, I can also breathe comfortably in it(able to take deep breaths when wearing it). I don't think this binder will damage your chest as it is so comfortable. Overall I recommend the gc2b.
Ps, with the gc2b binder you have to measure yourself exactly and go with the corresponding size, with the underworks however you have to go up an extra size to the one their chart is telling you to buy otherwise you won't be able to get it on.
