I have been doing a lot of thinking the past few days, and have really started thinking I am not trans, just confused.I have learned ally about myself here though.
Well, if you're not trans I have no doubt you'll be a good ally. Nobody chooses this, so, even though I'm proud and content to be trans, I'll understand if you feel like you dodged a bullet.
I'm curious how you arrived at that conclusion, if you feel comfortable talking about it? I'm trying to figure out exactly who/what I am also so hearing other people talk about how they figured themselves out would be helpful :)
You certainly aren't alone in your confusion. Many young people go through a period where they aren't sure which gender they are attracted to or which gender they identify with. What seems clear this week, may change the next.
My first girlfriend was sure she was a lesbian. She had no attraction to male bodies at all, (I was pre-transtioned), but was very attracted to the female form. That state of mind lasted over a year. Now, years later, she is happily married to a man and has two daughters.
Soul searching is not a bad thing. It gives you an opportunity to find out who you really are and gives you the ability to empathize with others. What ever you decide, I wish you luck.
