Title: Estrogel vs the patch price
Post by: Amy1988 on March 25, 2015, 05:52:26 AM
Does anyone know if the patch is cheaper than the pump?  My employer switched to United Healthcare, which sucks,  and my prescription price for estrogel went up to $95 from $55.  I'm looking for a cheaper alternative.

I have used Elestrin and now the patch. Of the too the patch is loads cheaper, I have united healthcare through work too and the patch is 15$ on my plan, Elestrin was 75$

ymmv based on the insurance plan, and where you live.

Yikes!!

I'm on the Vivelle Dot patch, which used to be among the most expensive, and the generic just came out - my copay is now the cheapest tier, and on my insurance it's $15.

You could also try looking into injectables, same route.

Why yuck? They work amazingly well on some, including me...are convenient and can deliver higher levels, IF need be vs patches where it becomes impractical if you need higher levels.

I don't want to get stuck.  It hurts.  Anyway my doc is putting on the pill form.  I'll see how goes.  They should be 17 beta just like the gel do should still be safe.
