Hey everybody,
I am a beautiful woman. I have been scared to admit it to myself and to people but now I am finally ready to bloom, after many years of repression, pain and misery.
I want to tell my parents but I am scared that they won't take it well, has anyone got anyone advice for what I can do?
Iam so happy to finally be free and be myself, I can't wait to share my true transsexual female nature with the world. For too long I have been pushed around trying to be manly but now I am letting it all go. I am Jennifer, I am a beautiful amazeballs lady and I ain't gonna take no ->-bleeped-<- from no one.
In my town there aren't many trans people but I am so happy that I have reached a point of self acceptance, it has taken many years of repression but I am finally free to be me. Dress shopping, anyone? I have always been partial to leopard print and a bit of pink wouldn't go a miss either.
I have never shown my female side to the public, should I show myself to people?
I can't wait to meet y'all but ciao for now!
Hello and welcome *hugs*

Well its up to you what you say since you know them best...
some people drop some hints... others come out in a letter, and show some materials like vids later...
I'd say take the time you need...
its a process, but many have gone it before and succeeded, and people here will try to support you.
And you might keep asking questions, alone writing might help getting a better view...
well concerning shopping you might think about second hand stores... you could get one or two items more, and clothing has already been washed and is less likely to change size like some new clothing...
hugs

As for how to tell your parents, the straightforward approach might be best, but might help to educate them a little bit at the same time. How would this be?
"Mom, Dad, you've probably heard of transgender people who are born needing to be female even though their bodies are male. Living as males are very hard for those people and the only thing that helps is to transition to live as females. I need to tell you that I'm one of those people and I will begin living as a woman. I will be changing my name to Jennifer. It will be an incredible relief to me to finally live the way I need to."
Welcome Jennifer :icon_wave:
I think you may need to tell your parents, although you best know them and their thoughts, it is key to stop hiding, something you don't really want to do, unlike me!
As for shopping, pick clothes that can accentuate female form, but be mindful of your body shape, currently. HRT in time will feminise you... Depending on age will determine the degree etc...
Welcome aboard and enjoy the new you and the forums :-*

Seconding second hand shops :D get your macklemore on and pop some tags, it's a great way to figure out what fits and feels good as well as looks good. I love thrift shop clothes because I tend to alter stuff to fit me better, even if it is just changing the buttons. It's a lot easier emotionally for me to do this to things that have already been washed and aren't totally expensive and new! I also tend to do that with stuff from places like Ross- ugly prints in good shapes make excellent sewing "patterns" if you feel like getting creative and tearing it up! you say there aren't many trasnfolk, but have you checked places like facebook or other social media for locals? You can be surprised by how many people are out there with some research :D
