Pillars of Eternity took everyone by surprise when it released from out of nowhere to widespread critical acclaim, though its success was unfortunately blighted by a limerick included in the game that was written by one of its Kickstarter backers. Following much debate over whether the developer should leave the poem in the game, Obsidian has now removed it.
Thanks for posting this. I'm sure I wouldn't have heard of it otherwise.
Though the line really bothered me about complaints about social justice warriors policing opinions they disagree with. When you disparage a group of people, you're not expressing opinion, you're committing an aggression. Why can't people see that?
I'm sincerely glad to see that developers are sensitive to such issues. Enjoyed this game in the beta!
Didn't they replace it with something else that people find almost as offensive, though?
Seems counter-productive.
