Post by: eggy_nog on April 09, 2015, 09:08:09 AM
YAAAY so happyyy had my 3rd appt at charing cross today and I'm gonna have my surgery weeeeee

Literally this is such amazing news ^^

Anyone with NHS experience know about the wait/good/bad experiences? Apparently it need to be within 12 months or I need a reevaluation :S but the doctor also said Mr Bellringer is now working again as well as Mr Thomas and Miss Rashid!

Have my surgical appt coming up to discuss all :) any suggestions on what to ask? Also if anyone's been with Mr Thomas or Miss Rashid please (if you're happy to) let me know how it all went and with end results ^^

Fantastic news and very uplifting to read! :)

Can`t help with any up to date advice, as the surgeon whom did my GRS has long since retired.......but images I`ve seen of some latter-day surgical outcomes, leads me to think that all of the present U.K surgeon`s techniques, are highly capable of making you feel content with the result.

Kind regards,
Deb.  :-*

Oh wow congratulations! I have an appointment for my second referral next month after which Leeds GIC will refer me to the surgeon I choose. I didn't realise Mr Bellringer was working again, I know someone who had her surgery with him and she speaks highly of him.

I called Phil Thomas' team a few weeks back to discuss things and the lady I spoke to was really helpful, gave me lot's of stats and information.

I haven't heard much about Tina Rashid, she has been under the tutelage of Mr Thomas I believe, so she has less experience than the other two, but that's no reflection on her ability.

I think the length of time you'll have to wait will depend on a few different things, like if you have any other medical conditions that need to be dealt with first (smoking, obesity, high blood pressure etc) and how much, ahem, 'tissue' they have to work with.

Good luck and keep us up to date (if you don't mind  :))
