Title: Hips widening
Post by: Rudy King on April 10, 2015, 02:39:52 AM
How long does it normally take to widen?  Cuase my hips are killing me.  It's been about three weeks since starting.

Oh, and this puberty stuff sucks!!!  It's no wonder why kids go crazy.

Hi Jennifer,

Just wondering how much of a difference you have since starting with the width of your hips. Is it mainly just fat and muscle or do you feel like the pelvis has changed? I've read a few other posts on other forums and there's always different opinions, yet I guess everyone is different too. I'd love to hear about your experience

Once  your bones fuse, your hips generally will not widen. This is generally in your late teens, early 20's. So start early.

"The hips will rotate slightly forward due to changes in the tendons so hip discomfort is not uncommon."

"The width of the hips are not affected in individuals in whom epiphyseal closure (fusion and closure of the ends of bones, which prevents any further lengthening) has taken place, an event which occurs in most people between 18 and 25 years of age. In addition, already established changes to the shape of the hips cannot be reversed by HRT whether epiphyseal closure has taken place yet or not"

True that.
