Title: has anyone went through the University of Michigan transgender program.
Post by: toniwest on April 10, 2015, 10:20:43 AM
Hello
I am new here and after 48 years finally admitted that I am transgender. I am in metro Detroit and work out of Ann Arbor so I contacted UofM about their program but it has been weeks and I have not heard anything back. I filled out their forms and emailed them back. Should I call them or continue waiting?

I contacted them when I was considering surgeons for GCS/GAS and they responded in a timely manner (less than two days after sending in the intake form).  I would call them.

What are their requirements? Is there a hospital or medical group in southwest Michigan that has a program?

I am trying to remember how I got started there, it seems like so long ago (its prolly almost 1 yr since actually..around that time, but seems like a lifetime ago!). I hate making phone calls like that so I prolly emailed them, I don't think I had to wait too long to get a response back either. I know they always say they are extremely busy but I don't think it should take em weeks to reply back to you so I would give em a call or email them again.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, am always happy to help out if I can.
