Okay hi there! i have done my research for years before i started to transition. I have a question though..
I have been going through a mix of things.. First question, my doctor raised my doses, they are pretty high i at least think. What is the highest dose of spiro and Estrogen they can go up to? Its fine if we cant discuss it.. just on my mind. Next, i have been going through some major mental "swings". I have.. i dont know how to describe it. Lost a lot of my hyper personality, i want to say my body toned me down a lot.. I am calm, but have like major swings sometimes. Next, id like to hear some of what you gals have been going through. Just because i really thought i was going crazy.
Thanks!
XoXo
Jessie, We can't discuss the specific doses. The needed doses very person to person I wouldn't read to much into the doses he has you on when the results are what matter the most. I know for me as a result of the hormones that I much more easy going and relaxed compared to what I ever was before. I have been fortunate on the most part to not have any major mood swings so I can't help you in that regard. Other than physical changes and subtle mental changes things have been very stable and enjoyable. I tend to get moody at times especially towards the end of a cycle, but then I'm on self injections so that is bound to happen. I wish I could be of more help. Good luck and hugs
Mariah
Hi Jessie, been on HRT for over 11 years started low and gradually increased over years, as Mariah said no dose discussions. For me I have only experienced calming and confidence from very early on, well before major body changes.
If you concerned you should go back and discuss, are you on any other meds?
Take care of yourself xoxo

No sweetie, i am only on Spironolactone and Estrogen. And hear you, i have an appointment next month on the 12th to talk about raising my dose, and talking about vocal feminization surgery and sexual reassignment surgery.. maybe thats why im thrown off?? because its a lot to take in? maybe! thanks girls!
Dosage discussions are not allowed and really vary from person to person because of size, height, weight, etc.
What you want to find out is your estrogen level in the bloodstream, what your doctor should be testing for in regular blood tests anyway.
This article, Normal Estrogen Levels (http://www.newhealthguide.org/Normal-Estrogen-Levels.html), explains what those levels should be generally. But even here you should ask your doctor what your specific readings may mean. For example, your doctor may want to ramp you up higher for a specific reason for a specific time period. Understand what your blood tests are telling you and what your doctor says they mean. Ask questions. It's your body and your life! :)
I'm on what I consider to be a medium dose but my levels are in the 300s which is fine.
Apart from the rules of the site, your dosing really depends on what is safe and effective for you and also your doctor's plan for your treatment.
