So I just hit 4 months on HRT the first week of April. I'm now hitting this "awkward stage" with full force. I definitely do not look like a guy, nor do I look like a girl at this point. A friend said I'm starting to resemble Rachel Madcow from MSNBC, that comment received a warm go %#$@ yourself needless to say. I can't believe how fast my body started to change though! Upper body muscle is almost completely gone and best of all, I have boobs now! Nothing worth bragging about, however, a massive change in only 4 months for sure!
Thankfully I completed my last day of work, it was getting rather difficult towards the end to come up with excuses of why I looked so different. Hopefully someday being transgender won't be a disqualification in any career path one may choose! Sucks many of us have to make such unnecessary sacrifices. I have no regrets though! Time for the next chapter.

You're doing well for just 4 months on HRT and believe me things will keep on getting better and better from here onwards.
Not so good about leaving your job, but it sounds like they were getting too nosy anyway. Any ideas at this stage of things as to the kind of job you'd like to try for?

I'm a little over 5 months in and I am pretty much in the awkward stage as well, I'd say. I've had a few incidents in guy mode that pretty much confirm this to me. Walking out of the stall in the men's room, had a guy in there totally checking me out. I mean, I watched his head go up and down while staring at me, lol. He definitely seemed a little unsure about things. Just this weekend, had a little kid tell me I look kinda girly, like a girlyboy. I got a good chuckle out of that, made my day actually, and I told him thanks.
Been part timing it for a little bit now but really, there isn't a whole lot of difference between my two modes anymore...Been slowly changing things for awhile now, trying to keep things mostly inconspicuous but now there isn't a whole lot that I can change w/o making it 100% obvious...Thing is, I kinda wanna keep pushing it but not quite ready for full time yet or everyone knowing, few things I wanna do/finish first.
Its definitely an interesting time, got that excitement of things getting better, going forward, but mixed with the fears of being trans, being found out, and the possible bad things happening as a result.
congrats on your milestone. did you decide yourself to leave your job because of personal reasons? or were you outed and pushed out?
i don't really want to complete my transition at my job either, because my company is so large, and so many people will have to know my business.

Thank you for the kind reply's everyone. I chose to leave my job, or should I say "honorably separate", if you catch my drift. I could not legally transition while pursing that career. Not sure what I will do next for a living, I'm focusing on completing a BA in transportation and logistics management right now. My background is in aviation mechanics, but I'm done with turning wrenches.
I've discovered with HRT its like you go on spurts of change. Week or two with no noticeable change, then bam! something drastically looks or feels different one day... and so on and so forth. Laser hair removal is a slow process though, I swear my beard just doesn't want to die! I've had 6 sessions now (5 weeks apart). Its definitely thinner overall, but a week before the next session is due a lot fills back in.
