Title: The pro-social effects of Estradiol
Post by: RidingTheTigerFEMME on April 17, 2015, 09:26:53 PM
Have any other ladies experienced a super relaxing, pro-social effect from Estradiol? (Estradiol Valerate IM, in my case.)

Before HRT I really worried that sacrificing strength, power, and aggression would make me feel insecure and vulnerable around men I once felt I had to compete with. But losing my male uptightness felt so natural..

I do feel more social and bubbly with HRT. That being said, I've never experienced aggression or uptightness, and have always been intimidated by men. I've never really had male-type sociability.

I have been loving how relaxed and social I have gotten. I am getting on so much better with people and the women at work have been amazing.

On HRT I feel calm talking to other people, and it is relaxing and easy.  Before HRT I think things were different, less calm, less relaxing.

Must admit I have seriously chilled, more social, more confidence, more daring (odd one, started doing things that I used to terrified of doing as a kid)... Even shopping (for me )

But I just feel rosier all around

Testosterone gave me a bad inner anger that wasn't good and put me in danger sometimes . Now all of that anger is gone.

I feel the same as most of you. It's ironic that I'm actually more capable of working well with others, and I believe I make a better leader now than I ever was as a man.

I had a similar problem.  I was basically depressed and angry all the time and always felt like my life was being wasted, like I was just trying to use up time.  I don't feel that way anymore, and I haven't since I started HRT.

I'd just like to add for most of my first puberty my body has difficulties producing testosterone, which may be a reason for my inexperience with hormone based aggression.

I do know that since I didn't have much of either testosterone or estradiol, I was chronically tired and felt constantly dazed as if I "wasn't really there". Thanks to HRT I feel much more conscious, and I can wake up in the morning without wanting to throw up.
