I'm meeting up tomorrow with a woman I've met via a lesbian dating site - it's for brunch in a fairly popular inner city cafe so all nice and friendly. She had contacted me and we exchanged a few messages and indicated she was wanting to meet up. So we arranged a time and a place... all good. I decided I should tell her ahead of time that I was trans - so I did and she seems OK with it and still wants to meet. So um... yay! ;D
Wish me luck! I have no idea how well we'll get along but it's worth a go, and if she's cool with me being trans then that is a major bonus.
Sounds like you're off to a good start!
Good luck! I hope you have a great time!
Good luck Hon.
Go for it'
QuoteWish me luck!
Ms Grace, you are awesome and don't need any luck! :P ;)
I wish you confidence instead.
Do not be afraid, just be yourself.
Good luck Ms Grace.

I'd say just be yourself and enjoy the time :)
have a nice time and get to know each other a bit better...

Have a great time Grace! Don't settle just 'cause she's trans friendly, even though that's important. You deserve the best!
Wishing you the best :)

Congratulations on your first date :) this is a major crossroad not only in your new life but on your road to happiness... something we are all hoping to follow you on.

Yay! Go Grace! Also probably best to get the trans thing out of the way to start, no real room for surprises now. I hope your date goes well. ^_^
Result . Hope it goes well. Bet your excited? Remember to keep you breath fresh just in case! Jx
So I met up with my "date" - and we had a good time chatting. For about four hours!!
I enjoyed meeting her and probably will again but not really feeling I want to get overly close or intimate with her. Happy for her to be a friend I see every now and then but not a lover. Kind of got the same feeling from her. There was a lot of interest about me being trans and while we did talk about other stuff it seemed to come back to that. If nothing else she's now a lot more educated about what it means to be trans. I hadn't realised but she lists herself as bi on her profile so that might explain why she was happy to meet up...??
Meanwhile, the other woman who was very keen to meet up is yet to get back to me after I told her about me being trans, so I'm thinking she has sunk without a trace.
An interesting experience none the less.
Yes, and now you've dipped your toe in the water, hopefully there will be many more positives to come! :)
Yay for the date, shame it wasn't quite what you were both looking for, but hey baby steps :-*
The right one will come along and you'll both just click...

It wasn't helped by the fact that within the first twenty minutes she said she really admired one of Australia's most loathsome politicians... cough Pauline Hanson cough
But yeah, it was a good first step at meeting women specifically in a dating scenario.
Good on ya Grace. I'm still hiding in my turtle shell waiting for the right moment to become 'social'. I'm handicapped by being a perfectionist so it'll probably be another year.
Then another...
Then another...

I guess I'm just dabbling - if something comes of it then great but otherwise I've still lost nothing by giving it a shot.
