Title: Just starting Estrogen..questions
Post by: DanaDane on April 20, 2015, 06:45:41 PM
Dr. prescribed me Transdermal Patches (no, I won't tell you the dosage..)

Since this is new to me, how long will it take to notice anything significant and if so..what should I be on the lookout for.

Thanks.

I have been on half transition dose of Estradiol (not sure how different from patches) for almost 3 months without an AA.  The only changes I have noticed so far are decreased libido and sore nipples.  Other than that, I pretty much look and feel the same.  I have a meeting with endo next month to start AA so hopefully blocking T introduces some new changes and emotions.

As always, your mileage may very.  Enjoy the ride and remember transition is a marathon, not a sprint.

I think everybody is different when it comes to responding and how quickly they respond. I know someone who has been on patches for about two months, the results are starting to show probably on schedule but I couldn't say. You will probably notice sensitivity in the nipples and some loss of libido but again, everyone is different.

By a few months for sure. By a few weeks likely. By a few days, maybe.

The very first week I noticed (1) breast soreness (2) increased awareness of smells (3) full body orgasms (this last one was a real pleasant surprise...)

I started on low-dose patches and noticed slightly softer skin, different body scent, and visible breast development in the first week... but everyone's bodies are different, and so are our timelines. You'll get there. :)
