Title: Looking back...
Post by: Ellesmira the Duck on April 22, 2015, 11:37:47 AM
So I was cleaning out my email in box and I stumbled on one my mom had sent me well over a year ago. She's such a sweet heart and I can't read through the whole thing without crying (the good kind) just a little. She often says she brags about me and my sister, so I thought I'd brag about her. =P also I hope this doesn't come off as -too- braggy. Its just something special I wanted to share with everyone here. I also removed the names besides mine just to keep it private for them.

Dear Drew,

It's been quite a few years since I have written you a love note and it's past due.  First I want to say how proud I am of you! You are an amazingly wonderful person and I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to share something so personal.  I am really honored that you knew that you could talk with me about anything and know that I will support you 110% in whatever lifestyle suits you.  When it comes time, if I can, I would be happy to come with you to any doctor's appointments or whatever - you are my sweet baby and I will always love you.  The thing that you said that touched me the most was when you said that you wouldn't want to change who you are (even if it made life easier ;), that you like yourself as a person.  I couldn't have been more proud at that moment especially.  I am also proud of your confidence and readiness for sharing this and take on all the challenges to come.  Never forget, you are the sweetest, most loving, considerate person (not to mention good looking) with an exciting intellect and fun sense of humor. You are still my shining star and always will be.

As we discussed, I don't plan on saying anything to (stepdad)or (little sister) (or anyone else) until you've had a chance to adjust or feel it's the right time.  I don't want you to feel like anyone is looking at you weird or judging you especially now with so much else to think about.  I'm sure both will love and support you as I do, but want to make sure you are comfortable and most of all happy.
Your biggest fan,
Mom

Susan's place is kind of my home away from home, so I like to share =P

I love this place and this is one of the biggest reasons why. Sometimes I just drop in to read about someone's joy. It can make my down moments so much better.

There is a lot of negative moments for trans people, but we can have some very touching moments too.
