Can't we have dresses made from immoral fabric instead? And where's my copy of the agenda? I swear, how are we supposed to have a meeting without enough copies?
And that's about as much seriousness as those folks deserve.

No need to say more. I get it. That's awful.
You know I am puzzled by the whole Christian hate thing. Jesus is love and Jesus specifically loved and hung out with sinners. So it would seem logical that Christians would also embrace sinners and not condemn them. That is if we are even sinners to begin with because in my opinion we are not.
Well I can inform everyone else that this site I had an account at was registered as male. As time went on I was uncomfortable with this moniker. You only have 2 choices and even your name on the site is shown as "blue" for males and "pink" for females (of course we all know it was the reverse in history in 1930s to 45ish)
Then I talked with them in a private session at length about everything. They took time to think on it, admins came back and agreed to make me a new account where I could register as female. That It was a valid reason. Old account deleted and new one started. I had been just fine with the new account for the last year.

That's ridiculoso! :-)
i prefer an immoral poly cotton blend myself.
I am also Christian.
In the years leading up to me coming out, I was frequenting Christian chat channels, pretending to be a girl. I've always been interested in theological debate, but wasn't willing to be 'out' until I was certain of things.
Anyway, when I came out, I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the gang offered me continued and unconditional support. The best sides of a Christian.
The whole thing was spoiled though, by just two or three people on there who made as much noise as possible. Waving Bible verses at me out of context, telling me I was going to hell.
None of it affected me. I am a lot tougher than the average Bible-believer would like me to be.
Nonetheless, it got to a point where I really had better ways to spend my time.
So, through their unwillingness to rein in the small handful of highly vocal muppets, the community lost me.

Definitely polyester in there somewhere... maybe some spandex.
Well, some sites, some people are not ready to just accept tg/ts people. Especially the religious right wingers, I would gather. I know I would not even mention my trans status on some sites, I belong too, just because they are too too hypermasculine, vinegar pissing, brouhaha peeps, some even legitimate combat veterans :-X, plus I'm considered light on my loafers now, compared to exactly 29 months, 1 day ago(hint, hint, pre hrt days). Online I can belong, for get togethers, uuuhhh, no, lol.
Regrets?, nah, either be the real me, or slowly self destruct.
I'm not sure what you're concerned about. What are they going to do ban you? You can't doubly ban someone. Anyway that's just me. You should feel free to say as much or as little as you want.

What should I be concerned about?!? How about the fact that this kind of thinking can lead a person to commit violent acts against someone lgbtqqi and believe themselves to be justified dOing it. Sure Its a forum ban but it was the words that were scary.
Whom would Jesus ban?
Seriously, sounds like a bunch of self-righteous hypochristians. I'm sure there are plenty of truly Christian sites around that are all-accepting. I really don't remember the part of the Bible where Jesus shunned people, nor the part where Jesus said you are forbidden to be intersex or transgender (or gay, for that matter). When people bring up Leviticus and Deuteronomy, I ask them if they follow those books in their entirety and to the letter. I mean, all of the Orthodox and Hasidic Jews that I've ever met couldn't come close to living up to them either.
Who is the REAL sinner here? Someone clearly forgot to reserve judgment for the Almighty.
You did nothing wrong, but they most certainly did for assuming the Almighty must hate the same people they do.
I'm not sure what site you were banned from (it doesn't really matter I'm not a member for sure) but I would guess your not missing out on anything of importance. Unfortunately in every religion and organized group (not just the Christians, Muslims, or whoever) your are going to find nuts that think they are better then you and have the right to tell you how you should live and think and try to control what is said for fear of loosing control or being outed as something other then the better then you. Don't take it personally and keep moving on as you will never be able to out argue or out shout them you can only outclass them by holding your head up high and being yourself and moving on and if you do this they will loose every time.
Shawn, I don't think you should face discrimination, but I assumed from this...

Nope not for being transexual. Many of the friends I have made on there KNOW that I am and I have not hidden it from them. And in the threads that transexualism comes up I do try to explain some of the possible causes and some of what we do go through. :)
I am not gonna kid anyone I have been flamed by a few people in there, but that also goes with the territory. :P
That's why I don't understand this. Gonna be blunt, Shawn. You do tend to push agendas. You're on hundreds of forums and frequently crosspost. So be honest, were you pushing something?
OMG ...NO WAY AM I PUSHING AGENDAS. I was being up front and honest with this site. I got a ban for transsexual agendas loud and clear. The fact that they didn't ban another person is a mystery to me. But I'm not talking to Sarah at the moment and I'd rather not say why. I'm quite shocked now. I've never been banned from any kind of site before.
Mod edit.
To avoid any possible arguments as to who else didn't get banned the other name mentioned has been removed.
If it is alright...then I can link to the other thread. I posted what was said to me and what I replied with. There were more comments directed at me but I felt better to leave those out.
Pushing agendas? I heard Pulling agendas is much better for your knees. :P
Hundreds of forums? I'm a member of two where I talk about anything lgbtqqi related. Devlyn...Not sure what you're referring to. I'm a member at a few gaming sites and art and gardening. But that's it.
I know this is a very heated topic and I can understand that but lets not name out names of others who were also involved on another site. It's not necessary or warranted here.
Thanks

OK, it's time for me to come out: I'm a Christian.
Wow. That was probably harder than coming out trans, because the noisy Christians -- the only ones our culture hears from all the time -- seem to be mostly closed-minded nutcases. (It's actually not hard to understand why. The closed-minded nutcases provide better soundbites, and foment just the type of conflict the media feeds on...)
I'm not going to preach, but the United Church of Christ (UCC) is a large, mainstream Christian denomination which welcomes all, no exceptions. Find your nearest UCC church (some are still known as Congregational), and you don't have to worry about who you are. You will be welcomed with open arms. ucc.org (http://www.ucc.org)
And the Lutherans are not far behind, though you have to find the right synod. ELCA churches are generally welcoming to trans folks (elca.org (http://elca.org)), LCMS churches are generally not. It can be confusing, and every individual community is a little different from every other. But it's important to know that there are plenty of Christian denominations and communities out there (including online) who quietly but fervently support radical inclusion, the idea that those on society's margins, the ones who don't look like everybody else, are the most in need of community -- a fundamental principle that Jesus stood for. Bless him, he would eat with anybody, especially those that he was not supposed to -- which pissed off a lot of people around him.
The larger point: There are as many types of Christians as there are Christians. And we suffer (truly) from being painted with a broad brush because of some very unenlightened loud voices.
The even larger point: Finding an accepting community (be it Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist or Unitarian or, um, model railroaders, or whatever) is one of the best things you can do for your mental health. And staying with a community that doesn't get it can be one of the most damaging.
And just so we're clear, anybody who would ban you for being trans (or having a "transgenda") doesn't get it. Cut 'em loose, kick the dust off your sandals, and don't give it a second thought.
Lora
needful post there translora! Actually I do attend UCC in Alameda,Ca one of the open and affirming God it's still speaking churches.
