Title: Height question.
Post by: Equestriaghoul on May 02, 2015, 02:59:02 PM
Hello, I was just wondering. When do biological males usually stop growing?

I'm 18 an and can't be much taller than 5,6, and I don't think I've grown much since I was 16 years and about 10 months old, and my dad and grandpa are both shorter than me!

And most child height calculators that I've used say that 5,6 is as tall as I'll get, but they usually also say that it's just a prediction and that there are many factors.

Some sources say than it usually stops at about 17-19, but others say 22-24.

Also some people say that exercise causes you to grow, but others say it's not a factor.

I'm also trying to lose about 38 pounds and was going to start exercising in addition to cutting calories, but if there is a chance that I'll gain height than I think I'll just stick to cutting calories until I get hormones/blockers, I'd like to have them by July or early August, but at the rate things are going, I'll probably be lucky to have them before October.

I'm relieved to be under 6 feet and thrilled to be this much so, and I'd like to stay this way.

When does it usually stop without hormones/blockers?

Thank you for your time.

I didn't grow or physically develop after 14 (other than pelvis widening)... while some other have growth spurts at 20, 22 or even later, sometimes even after 5/6 years of no growth. It really depends from person to person.

Also, being 6 feet tall is pretty amazing...

I stopped around 18-19. I've been 5'7" forever recently losing about an inch of that.

I stopped reaching for the stars around 17-18 at 6ft even. Today I am 5'11. I calculated that when I am 238 years old I'll reach my goal height of 5'4".

These days there are a LOT more taller women then when I was young. Back in the 60's - 70's the average height for women my age was like 5'4. Any wonder this giant stopped my transition experiment when I was young?

I reached 5'7" at around 16/17 and have stayed the same since. It does vary but I don't remember any of my friends at the time growing much after 18. You won't grow much bigger in any event.

It's different for everyone based on genetics and nutrition (that last one is why children tend to be taller then their parents as children tend to have better diets then their parents did) I reached my full height of 5'7" when I was 18 and was one of the shortest guys in my high school class and in my company when I entered the military but the funny part is that I'm the tallest person in my family.  Most girls when I was in high school were around 5'5" which put me about the same height (unless some one is standing right next to me they couldn't tell the difference between me and the other girls because more then once I was told I was the same height as girls who were 5'5" or less) now today I'm still considered short by just about everyone and most women seem to be at least my height or taller (still some shorter ones around but they don't seem as common as they used to be).
