Hi all,
It's been 10 months since I had top surgery and things have been going well in regards to healing. A few months ago, about November, I had developed a bump, which looked like a large pimple right on the boarder of my areola. It was very red around it and looked similar to an infected cut. I called the surgeon, who is unfortunately 3.5 hours away from my state, and his nurses asked for photos and told me it was likely a suture wasn't dissolving quickly enough, so my body was "spitting it back out". They sent my local pharmacy an rx antibiotic and told me to call back in about a week. The pimple looking bump ended up popping and becoming a small wound. After about two weeks it was healed and left a gross purple colored scar above my nipple. : / Which sucks because I didn't have any scars prior to it from surgery, but NOW yet another one has appeared. I assumed it was just a pimple, but a day later it is looking EXACTLY like the last "popped suture"- I'm not really sure if that was what it was because the dr. never saw me personally. But I'm just wondering if anyone has had this experience with the peri along their nipple boarder before? And do you guys think it will just keep happening? What should I do? This is the second one after all.. Here are the photos to show you my current one. : ( (It doesn't look nearly as bad as the first- and the plastic-looking stuff around it is scar treatment for what the first one left behind)

I know this post is very old, but I strongly recommend massaging the areolas with coconut oil. It should help smooth out the bumps, it also has natural antibiotic properties.
