CALEDONIA — Cameron Langrell was a teenage boy who felt trapped in the wrong body.
The 15-year-old freshman at Horlick High School recently announced on Facebook that he was transgender. He wrote that he was dating another boy and changed his profile gender to "female."
A few days after his announcement, he was dead. Family members feel it was because of bullying.

And in this case parents were supportive,
Rest in Peace dear one.

So sad
Very sad.
I understand why the article used male pronouns but I wish the author had found a way not to misgender her.

FWIW, the article in the Advocate (http://www.advocate.com/politics/transgender/2015/05/07/wisconsin-trans-teen-bullied-femininity-dies-suicide) uses female pronouns.
If she had chosen a new (female-sounding?) name, I haven't seen reference to it, so it's understandable that even they refer to her as "Cameron."
